When you are home, do you like to... ?

When you're home in the summer and it's really hot outside, and you have the air conditioning on, do you prefer to walk around with barely any clothes on and save money buy raising the temperature on the thermostat so the A/C doesn't go on as frequently? That's what I like to do.
I have a tank top and some short shorts on now, no socks and my thermostat is set to 78. It's still cool in my home and my feet are even a little chilly. Thank goodness my home has good insulation and is very energy efficient.
I know some people like to turn the A/C down really low and cover with blankets or sheets, but I'd rather save money and help the environment a little more. How about you?

I'd rather keep it at 71 and cover up. I don't care about the enviorment and keeping me cool is more important. If it gets too hot I'll just go jump in the pool.

I like to turn the air off sometimes. Not just to save money but I miss the fresh air in the summer time. Turn it off, turn the fan on and get some fresh air. Now if it's over 95 degrees, or I am trying to clean or sleep, I try to keep it at 72degrees.

Fresh air is nice too, but yes if it's too hot that's definitely a no. I don't want to walk around sweating all day!

I try to find a temp where the a/c will make it cool enough for me ,these days it is about 75 or 76. I wear t-shirts and shorts. The bad news is that my room is one of the warmest rooms in the house. But I do have a ceiling fan.It Really helps.

For me, I HAVE to stay as cool as possible. I feel like i can wear a sweater or blanket, but i cant run away from the heat. lol. I have tried it your way, but it is hard for me, because i am such a hot bodied person. Usually, ill have the temperature really low, AND wear as little as possible.. but thats just me. =]

When I am at home, I will get online to listen to music, watch movies, or visit some websites that are necessary for me.
After that, I will treat myself a delicious meal, and do all my chores.
Those things will definitely make my day at home.

Yeah i just do like you. i want to save money so i only turn on the air conditioner at night and set it to be a certain temperature and to run just a few hours not the whole night. My boy enjoys air conditioner very much otherwise he will sweep a lot and i will keep taking care of him always.

I like to keep the air conditioner set between 79 and 81 usually at 80 degrees depending on the humidity. That keeps our house pretty cool. I don't like to have it a lot cooler than it is out side because I feel that if you keep it too cool than then you have to go out in the heat you feel it much more. I usually wear mid calf or long pants and a t shirt. We live in a split level house and the lower lever get pretty cool with those temp.

That's more or less what we do too. We keep the AC on the high end of comfortable and wear summer clothing.

Hello my friend Bethany1202 Ji,
WE North Indians can live without A/C upto even 50 deg Centigrade temerature. Our body would not burn. Even now temerature in this part of world is much higher. Life has not come to stand still and remain inside the houses. Normal work keep going. One does not know, how much our body can resist. God is great. My house is not air conditioned but it is nature-cooled. We live happily and totally save A/C Bill. May God bless You and have a great time.

Hmm, I am not quite sure exactly how hot 50 degrees Centigrade is, as we use Fahrenheit here, but I am sure it's pretty hot!!
I couldn't live without any A/C whatsoever! Oh my!
Best wishes, thanks for the response!

I do the same. I have on a tanktop, shorts and flip flops. Anything else and I am uncomfortable. Even just a tshirt make me feel too hot. I am a bit weird though. If my aire was down to 78 I would be freezing. I keep mine above 80. 83 is probably the normal low I keep it at.
I like warmer weather, so anything in the 70's is cold for me. It has been in the 100's outside lately. Even though 100 is a bit much I take it anyday over cold weather.

I definitely dress in as little as possible when I'm home. Mostly for comfort! lol But also so I don't have to turn the AC on as often. I try to stay dressed enough though that if Fed Ex or someone would come to the door, I could answer it quickly if need be. So I don't ever just walk around naked, LOL. Like today - I'm home and packing up, so I want to be as comfortable as possible. I'm in a tshirt and mesh shorts. Comfy and cool. It's actually not that warm here today or I'd be in a tank top instead of a tshirt.

Ya there are many people who tries to keep their AC bill lawer or try to decrease it. They keep it ON for only 1 hr and pack whole room with all window closed like that. but I am happy that I dont have AC and not worried about bill.

I don't have air conditioning in my house, and even though I live in the Pacific Northwest, it gets pretty hot in my house sometimes. I like to wear a shirt, or at least a sports bra, because otherwise I feel a little too naked but I do often walk around in my underwear. I live with my fiance, and she wears about the same amount. The only time I wear more clothing is when my brother is here (one night a week) and then I make sure to wear pants or shorts, although lately it's been hot enough that he's wearing his underwear too.

When I used to live in a tropical country, we cannot not turn on the air conditioner when we are at home because it is really really humid, humidity close to 100% everyday, the floor gets all wet and stucky, walls can get very wet...
My sister and I like to go to the beach to enjoy the nature but once we are home, air condionter is a MUST... we won't turn it on when we go out, we try not to turn it too low. Once the temperature drops down a little, we turn on the fan instead.
