Have you ever read a story that had a plot which was extremely similar to something you had in mind only you didnt write it down? I have experienced it more than once and felt rather stupid that I didnt pen it down and submitted it somewhere. Sometimes, you have ideas that you trash because you dont think they'll fly but turns out, you just threw away a million dollar idea. Bummer.
Anyone have similar experiences?

I've felt like this so many times that I couldn't begin to tell you about it/ I've seen a number of movies whose plots I toyed with in my head for a couple of years. Sometimes you just have to kick yourself for being stupid. I also hate when I read a book and think that I could have written the story so much better/

Sigh. I know how that feels. Gotta learn from one's mistakes, right? Never will I throw another idea away. :-)

I have done this before many times actually and have learned to remember the old saying, "Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today" :) If I get a thought and don't write it right off I don't even bother because I'm sure someone else will have done it already by the time I get to it.

Not really. I do have a lot of ideas that I want to write down, but never does come out of my head without me throwing the idea away.

That is why in India thee is a saying like whit you have planned for tomorrow, do it today and what you have for today do it right away.
So do not fret, what has come into your mind do write them down.

haha Lacroix, too bad that you throw away million dollars idea. I have similar experience but not in writing.
I have considered buying the shares of a company, but after talking to a few persons, decide against it, later on the share price of the company soars. Just my luck! I should have listened to my intuition, even though there is just one reason to buy, and ten reasons not to buy. In the end, the reason that makes me consider buying is the one that sends the share prices soaring to the sky.
