Why Indian Cricket team never delivers the huge EXPECTATIONs?

Is it becoz of the media giving too much of pressure and unnecessary crticism on the Team and the individuals? Or
Is it the excessive fame and money that the players get..(making them irresponsible and less dedicated to the game, carried away by the fame)? Or
Is it that the Indians can never handle the pressure of expectations?
We've seen it many a times
1. for the 1999 world cup (where India was considered strong favorites)
2. for the 2007 World Cup (one day format) and now
3. the 2008 T20 world cupt (being the most favorites by far)
There are many other instances...Why do you think this is happening time and again?

The second is the main reason. Most players are not from a sound economic background and when suddenly there is a red carpet of money for them this is natural that they get more tilted towards money and fame. These things are being exclusively shown these days on the TV. If otherwise and ordinary person gets Rs.300 crore pa, just think where the mind would be roaming around.

Yeah.. thats the main point.. Nobody can handle the emotions of becoming a crorepati in a matter of days!, Specially guys who haven't had a sound financial background (in fact all Indian team members hav come up from such situations).
The focus should be on performance and the income should not be that high initially!
Lets hope for the best!

Yes . the match fee should not be so high in the beginning itself. They have not a single penny to spend on their own when they are in a tour. No Cricket playing Nation gives so much buck to the players.

This players have to pay les taxes and they enjoy every freedom. there should be some restrictions in their life style.

Indian cricket team members when all constitute as 1 players then is when a team is called a team.There have been many upsets by the team in the recent pasts but they are trying each time to come up though now INDIA is ranked as the NO.2 team in the ODI's.The more the money ,hype,fame comes to a person he starts forgetting his tasks at hand and goes out to the search for more.Most of the forms of te team mates suggests INDIA would not give upsets in coming games.
