What type of water you are drinking ?

In my childhood we used to drink the water from the well directly without doing a purification. We were in a village. After I shifted to the city, mainly an Industrial area, we used to drink the water which supplied by the water supply board. We used to use an ordinary filter to purify it. Again we shifted in the city itself and the Government is not supplying the water. We used to buy the processed water for drinking. Now We have our own borewell and we are using a water purifier to get the drinking water. What about you? What type of water you are drinking ?

I have always lived in areas where the water was provided by the city dams. Now they are putting more and more chemicals in the water to try to 'improve our health'. I am not happy about this, they recently started putting flouride into our water without even asking the public whether we wanted it or not!!! I do not know anyone that is happy to be drinking this poison. My goal now is to move out into a country area with a natural spring on my property and use that and rainwater tanks for drinking and bathing. That way I can be in total control over what goes into my body!

Hi.....RawBill Thank you for participating in this topic. As you said water purification and processing involved the use of chemicals. Even I have a concern that the chemical contended water is not good for health in the long run.Wish you all the best to attain your goal and live a healthy life. Have a nice day

I'm pretty sure that every spec of human lifeform on this planet, would love to drink some kind of spring, distilled or purified H2o. But the truth is everyone can't afford it, or simply don't feel the need for it, unlike myself. After years of drinking that corroded, parasite-infected water, I try my best to drink some-kind of filtered water. HERE'S A TIP FOR THOSE THAT NEED TO DRINK MORE WATER BUT CAN'T STAND THE TASTE: I PREFER YOU GET 16.9OZ BOTTLED H2o. 1.MOZY ON DOWN TO YOUR NEAREST GROCERY STORE 2.LOOK FOR THE KOOL-AID AISLE 3.CRYSTAL LIGHT DRINK MIX, OR OFF BAND, DOESN'T REALLY MATTER 4.1 TUBE PER BOTTLE 5.SHAKE WELL! 6.ENJOY!CONTAINS: 0-5 CALORIES PER SERV. 0-SUGAR,SODIUM-35mg 0-fat NOW THAT'LL HAVE YOU DRINKING LIKE AN OLDSCHOOL CADILAC WITH NO BREATER, A SET OF HEADERS, AND NO EXHAUST! BE eASY!

I drink water from the well without any purificiation. I am not worried about contaminants. I'm sure this well water was tested before it was deemed safe for human consumption. I have not suffered any ill effects from drinking this water and I dont think that I will have any. It is good water as far as I am concerned.

Hi...anjalishrarma Thank you for your response in this discussion. It is happy to know that you are getting pure drinking water in Rajastan. It is better to have bottled mineral water, when you are going out of your city because in some of our cities the age old drinking water pipe is leaking and the drain water getting mixed up in this.So Please take care...Wish you happy days ahead !!!

My family orders big bottles of Sparklett's water so that's what I drink. It tastes a lot better than tap water. I've heard that rain water is the best water. I had a friend who grew up in a village in another country and that's what they drink there.

We live in the country and have a well. However, we can't drink the water. It tastes bad, and effects us after a time. So we have to fill 2 5-gallon jugs with water from the store. This is far cheaper than getting individual bottles of water. It's only like two something to pay for all that. That's not bad.

I usually cook with tap water and drink Dasani bottled water. Sometimes I will drink Aquafina. My tap water is fine for drinking though. In fact I am only around a mile from the water plant so it tastes great!

I also have that when I was young in my barrio. When traveled to the city thats the time I learned to drink purified water. Or tap water frm faucet. Even though it is directly from deep well . I did not suffer illneses or diarrhea from water. Only in the city I felt have diarrhea from the dirty water in the faucet. That happens I automatically drink safe purified water . No own water purifier at home.

any chance i get i fill jugs from my grandmother well or buy jugs of spring water...recently my town sent out flyers sayin that the arsenic level in the water was now unsafe to drink and that you need to boil it to purify it....its not that the level of arsinic in the water went up at all but the standards for the water went down from 5 parts per million being perfectly fine to 3 parts per millon being fine....now to me that means the twon water never changed and its perfectly fine...but something about seeing them flyers makes me feel weird every time i drink town water....doesnt sound to safe to me...but unfortiantly for the most part i end up drinkin town water.....

Growing up, i always lived in town, and we just drank the water direct form our tap. This was from the city water supply and had been treated and lightly chlorinated to prevent germs and mold and whatnot. It is what we were used to. When i would go to visit friends on farms, they often had well water. I had a hard time drinking this, as it usually had a slightly funny smell and flavor to it, and was sometimes even off color. I just didn't like it. Now where i live in maine, I still drink the water straight from my tap in town, but here the water comes from local lakes and springs and is only very lightly processed to remove impurities (no chlorination or the such). I know many people prefer to use water filters or drink only bottled water, but if you have ever heard of or purchased the Poland Spring brand of bottled water (which is populater nation wide here in the US and i believe availiable all over the world) my tap water actually comes from the same springs they procure their water from, as the botteling factory is less than half an hour from where i live. So i don't see the use of buying it, when it comes from my tap *lol*

I live downtown in a big city, and I drink the water directly from the tap. A friend of mine used to work for the city, and he told me that the city tests the water at varios sources to make sure there is nothing bad in it at least once an hour. It's probably safer than some of the bottled water that's being sold.

Hi........andit Thank you for participating in this discussion. If the water is tested in various sources and supplied by the authorities it will be safe to drink the same.

Hello friend, My parents told me stories about how they used to drink unfiltered water, directly from the well and never fell ill. Even today when I go to my village, we drink water directly from the hand pumps. Its not quite the same story here in Metros. Our condition is still okay, as we drink water supplied by the govt authorities but people who are in far flung areas don't get that and they can't drink water without filtration.

Hi....jshekhar As you said, in our we are also drinking the water from the well without any purification and filtering. The water is too good as the purified water. Thank you for the response. Happy mylotting

I drink purified water. We have a water purifier in the house. Before we bought purified drinking water contained in large bottles but since we had realized we could save more by using a water purifier, we just did that.
