Hi, I was reading this news and wanted to share it. Baboons at a safari park in northern England have learnt how to break into car rooftop luggage boxes. In a staged recreation of recent events, Knowsley Safari Park show how the baboons have learnt to open luggage containers on roof racks. Recently, visitors to the park have had their possessions stolen by the anti-social primates. The safari park has now warned visitors that they enter the park at their own risk. You can watch the video here: http://www.reuters.com/news/video?videoId=108328&videoChannel=4 How cute they are....

Hi Dolphin2406, My name is Jergle but to most of my friends i am known as "Munkeh". I just wish to speak out an behalf of the primates out there. We have nothing to do with it. it wasn't us and you can't prove it. :P

well I love monkeys too, unfortunately here we don't have them except for some people who have bought them to keep as pets. But I don't agree with that since their habitat is not an apartment or a garage. They're so intelligent! well sometimes I think I prefer animals than people, they are so much better.

Hi Dolphin2406, I agree with you about not keeping some animals as pets like monkeys etc. Unfortunately over hundreds of years we have domesticated many species to suit human life. Dogs, Cats, Cows, Pigs, Sheep and horses and those are just the one's i recall right now. Unfortunately for these animals, they depend on us to provide for them and look after them when they get ill and stuff. Then there are the animals being displaced or made homeless by humans through building roads and houses everywhere and deforestation etc. There is alot to think about when taking any animals welfare into account and not many people seem to do it these days. I suppose what i'm trying to say is. As long as the animal is cared for and looked after properly then it should be entitled to any home. just like you or i. I hope you agree.

Well I agree in a way but I don't think it's fair to keep a wild animal like a monkey or even tigers in a small place just for the fun of having a pet or owning such a mammal. Their habitat is in the wild like forests etc. I know some people here keep monkeys in cages, I think that is cruelty.

Very interesting. Reminds me of that movie "Dundston Checks In". Have you seen that movie? Primates are very smart and I wonder who is responsible for teaching them to break into the luggage? I am sure they did not start it on their own.

Hi, no I haven't seen that movie I think or maybe I forgot the name but I'll check about it. I don't know since they are intelligent they might have gotten up to it after trying several times.

Ha Ha! The animals are no longer sitting passively in their habitats. They are venturing out and amusing themselves and people had better get ready for more antics!

straight into the zoo for that lot i think. actually why doesn't the park just tell visitors not to have stuff in the roof racks - baboons always climb all over cars in these places so i suppose this was inevitable.

Actually I have never seen them in real life in the wild. I wish I would have the chance to visit a wildlife park. I guess people should be informed or maybe there are small notice boards which many people will not look at.

in this case the animals clearly aren't stupid, not so sure about some of these visitors...jb
