If you became the government what would be the first law you would make?

If I became president of the U.S., I would abolish monopoly once and for all. Our Constitution provides that monopolizing is illegal, but those that run our government do not seem to care, and allow it anyway. Stopping monopoly would allow the American Dream to revive, and the people to take back control over our country.

Hello, maximax8! The first law I would make? Actually, I'd not add nor remove any law. I don't think that the laws are too messed up to the point of damaging a society. Instead, I would ensure that the laws would be followed, by raising the security. But well, I guess I have no other choice than to create a law. I would create the new law of adding filters to the cars, so the polution would be way reduced. It would be a duty. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

If I am the government or I am the PM then probably the first thing I would do is I would eradicate corruption from my country. Every person who is enforcing law and the one who is following the law has to do it in a proper righteous manner. Most problems would be rectified if law can play its role without the interference of corruption. There are definitely many other agendas and issues which needs the attention of our leaders, maybe someday things would be changed for the better. Am I already sounding like the P.M.?

I would make it illegal for lawyers to work for clients for a portion of any possible court winnings. Either the lawyer works pro bono and gets paid nothing, or the client pays the lawyer a pre-agreed amount of money regardless of whether or not the lawyer wins. I believe that would virtually end frivolous lawsuits. Which would thereby decrease the money that doctors pay for malpractice and making health insurance more affordable for all.

I would command the police to investigate all politicians for possible crimes they made, abuse of power, and corruption. Next, I'll hang this politicians to serve as a warning to other politicians not to do the same thing as those corrupt.

The very first thing that I would do, would be to CUT DOWN ON THE SIZE OF OUR GOVERNMENT. It was never meant to be this big. The individual states could be more responsive to the needs of it's citizens if the BIG GOVERNMENT were cut down to size. As stated before, POWER CORRUPTS AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY. First I would slash the pay for myself and push for Legislative paycuts, too. But more importantly, I would create four new Federal Holidays! I could boost my popularity and hopefully jumpstart the economy at the same time. I don't have any specific ideas for the Holidays yet, but I'd want four different ones that pushed sales in different segments of the economy. Fun question.
