Well i have none but my dad has few. As earlier said its better to use them during emergency times. It becomes very difficult to pay with the interest rates rising so high. I have seen how my dad is suffering due to these credit cards. I am sure i am not gonna buy one also.

I only have one credit card. It is a prepaid credit card meaning that I can only spend whatever money I have put on the card. It comes in handy for paying bills online as well as shopping online And the best part is that there really is no credit card debt

Hi Yugasini...I used to have three credit cards, but the interest rates are killers! I have paid them off and cut them up. I use a debit card, my checking account, and cash now...much more sensible for me. Karen

I have two credit cards, a debit card and rewards card. I use them all constantly. One credit card, however, I use for vacation trips so I generally get that paid off fast. I also triple my minimum payment each month on my credit cards.

Hi yugasini, I have three credit cards and a debit card and i am trying like crazy to pay off my credit cards. The interest rates are horrible and the whole amount that you send them don't go towards the balance. A percentage goes to finance charges and it takes forever to get the balance down. If you can avoid using your credit card for only emegencies that would be you best bet. Good Luck

I have 3 debit cards. The first I got because I needed it to receive my college scholarship on it, and so I did for 4 years. The second I got for the same purpose, because my university decided they want to change the bank they use to make payments - I got this one during my last year of college and never received any payments on it. I got my third debit card when I applied for a job, to get my wages on it, but the hiring procedures are not over yet. I use this debit card to pay my cellphone bill online - it's more handy than paying cash. Generally, it's hard to pay by credit/debit card in my country (Romania), because there are not many shops that accept card payment, as the country is not so developed economically.

Thank you for your consideration, but my English has its faults... I'm not in any education stage right now, as I graduated from my Master classes this summer. I will apply for the Ph.D. classes this autumn, but right now I'm not officially into any education stage.

Hi yugasini! I would be very careful about getting and using credit cards! They can get you into all sorts of trouble! I have gotten myself into trouble using them! I have a huge outstanding debt on one of them that I don't know how I will ever be able to settle!. It is a very long story, but I was out of work and used the credit card to help me pay my bills and it all backfired! Now I have two credit cards that I make sure I keep current on because I now I have really bad credit and will never be able to get another card ever! So be very careful what you do when getting and using them because it is very easy to get yourself into trouble!

I hope you would take my advice fellow mylotter. Prefer to get a debit card over a credit card. Credit cards really do have tremendously high interest. If you are not a responsible and wise spender, credit cards will really give you problems. On the other hand, with debit cards, you are limited only to the amount your debit card has.So you wont over spend.Debit cards are just like paying cash with the convenience of not actually bringing cash along with you.

I´m of the old svchool. I like to have the money when I want to buy something. So, even if in my country (as in everywhere) everyone wants to "give" you a credit card, I only have one. And I pay it normally at the end of the month. Only a couple of times I have used it as a credit card because it was a better choice. As for the debit card, I had it for many years, basically to take out money when I smoked. But since I quit, I don´t need much money in cash so my daughter gives me cash and I transfer to her account the sum from this same computer. Credit cards and debit cards have a monthly charge whether you use them or not So check out your needs first. Happy posting

Hi Yugasini Garu I do not have credit card but my sons and husband are having. It is useful while travelling coz we need not take heavy money where ever we travel. It is risky too. But if we take credit cards though it is lost, we do not loose any money but apply for a duplicate card. But i do have debit card. It is extremely useful. When ever we need money, we need not go to bank and wait for hours to withdraw our money wasting our time besides we have to wait till the Bank opens and if we need the money urgently, we can not get it till the bank opens. But if u have one debit card, anytime, anyday, you can draw money without wasting time

Hi Shridhar I have credit cards. But whether it is restaurant or mall or grocery shop, I always prefer to pay cash, but if amount is high, I don't have in pocket then only I pay via my shopping card, which is also known as ATM or Debit card, very rarely I use my credit card, though I carry in my wallet always. Good that you are free from headache Thank you so much for sharing. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

I have a few but have a rule that no matter how tough life is I do not use them unless it is of absolute emergency as I do not want to get stuck with many high balances. Some people do go way over board and end up ruining their credit. I use my debit card more then anything as I have no fees and this way I only spend what I have in the bank and not have to worry about paying anything back.

I just noticed that this discussion is 2 years ago, and it got me really curious on whether you already have your credit card, or you have managed to be part of th crowd that pays credit card bills every single month. I currently have 3 credit cards, one of which I just decided to cut (literally cut the cards into tiny pieces that is).. though I still haven't cut my line since my phone contract automatically debits the bill to that account.. I admit I am one of those who pays the bills every month.. though I am proud to say that I have limited my use to really just important things, and I haven't maxed any of my limits YET. LOL.

I don't have credit card and also I don't like to have it.As I used to spend more, if I have credit card, then I may have to suffer a lot in future. For this reason, I did not try to obtain the credit card. But I own a debit card and I will be using this for my purchase so that my expenses fall within certain limit. I have seem many of my friends who used to purchase whatever they see in the market and struggling to repay the amount..I don't want to meet such situation.
