In ever stage of our lives we will encounter times when we have to wait! I personally look upon these times with some level of distaste.
There are times, it is unavoidable, and very tolerable and necessary such as when you are waiting to see a doctor, most of these doctors offices are well equipped with toys and books, magazines sometimes even a television set! These waits are not so bad.
Or in A restaurant, as you wait for your meal in pleasant company. This goes by very fast you might hardly notice that a whole half an hour has gone by! But then if the company isn't very pleasant, and you are becoming quite hungry, 5 minutes could seem like a whole hour!
I have been a chef for a number of years, my favorite thing to do is prepare food for large functions, like company parties, and weddings. The worst wait is between the time I have all the food ready, and the time the folks are ready to eat. A fair amount of the time, they say they want to have dinner at 6pm(or whatever time), then they start their speeches, and soon it is 6:45 and we are still waiting for them to say they are ready to eat mean while all my beautiful food is becoming less appetizing by the second...wait wait wait...with nothing to do because at any moment they will want their food, RIGHT NOW! So I can not start any other prep or go for a break, because I must wait. Until this past week, these were the worst waits of my life.
I would wager a sandwich you are thinking right now. Well what happened this past week? I will tell you, I made an offer to purchase my first home, the seller agreed, and I was pre approved! However, I must wait for the Mortgage Brokers insurance company to decide whether or not they will insure the money that the Mortgage Broker will be lending us. I tell you it is nearly unbearable for me.
Anyways, What do you like most about waiting? What do you do to improve the feeling of your wait? What is your favorite thing to wait for?

In the past I have been horrible at waiting. I would stress myself out unbearably agonizing over every excruciatingly slow passing minute. My son perfectly captured the feeling one year when he was a child waiting for Christmas. He said "I wish somebody would just knock me out and when I woke up it would be Christmas!"
I have gotten a little bit better at it these days. The trick for me is to just let go of my attachment to any particular outcome and carry on with my life as usual. I also remind myself that everything always works out for my greatest good, and that worrying about it only muddies up my vibration and interferes with the flow and slows down the whole process. Not only that but it invites what I am worrying about in!
I have found it to be absolutely true that anything you have to struggle to get you will have to struggle to keep, so I work at maintaining a calm and unflustered attitude and let circumstances work out however they will. It is never the end of the world if things don't work out the way I thought they should, and every time they have not something better came along! EVERY time!
My favorite things to wait for are things that I have ordered online. I am currently waiting for a few things right now, and as soon as they get here I have another bunch of orders to put in!
I guess I don't need to ask you if you are all settled in after your move... got that question answered without even having to ask it!
Well, good luck with it, and may the force be with you!

I just noticed you asked "What is your favorite thing about waiting", you did not ask "What is your favorite thing to wait for"... shows what my attention is on, hehehehe, I can hardly wait to try out my new HairZings!
My favorite thing about waiting is that it gives me the opportunity to clean up my vibration and get all of me going in the same direction regarding the thing I am waiting for. Plus, the feeling of anticipation is exhilarating!

There are times that I find waiting to be a waste of time. There are also times, when I am incredibly grateful that I could wait.
I know what you are saying but If they don't work out something better comes along. This seems to be the way house shopping is going for us this time around. Every house we wanted, we ended up waiting to long, or not doing something right. And now we found a house the more then suites us, and is way under priced. Just waiting on gosh I wish I could remember the name of the agency. Whatever, they provide government funded insurance for lower mortgages. And they don't even get involved in the process until the offer to buy has gone through. So we wait and see if they think that house is worth insuring the money to help us pay for it or something complicated like that.
I can't wait till it is all over, and I can start moving in. One day, everything I own will be moved in, in less then 3 hours from the time I am given the keys. Got a cousin with a 5 ton truck, stuff in several places because we are between houses.
I am sure it is all gonna work out, so I am not worrying about it, I am just really excited to be living in my own home!!
Cheers, Buddha.

yea, it can get quite frustrating. at times, I have even thrown a thing or two before.
Vineyards are good, lots of hard work, and you get well rewarded for it.
We moved in here in september, working on making it our own bit by bit. I don't believe I ever chose to ignore you, you just seemed to disappear. I will have to look into it, I was beginning to think you left.
I understand about the sun still coming up each day, no matter what else is going though, and that is a great way to live.
With Appreciation.

I am a very inpatience person but as I have gotten older I try to have more patience because I know this imporant to have. Do I like to wait? No but it is a part of life to me and I must understand that. I think people should take the time they have and enjoy it as much as they can. I also believe that if I am with someone and I lose track of the time than I am at the right place because really time really if you think about it does not exisit. Think about that for a moment? :) Take care and happy mylotting to you.

I have learned since making this discussion that a great thing to do while waiting is thank the Lord(or whoever) for all the great things in your life. And then, tell myself affirmations either in my head or out loud(though I get some queer looks when I tell myself how I am out loud in public.)
Waiting is sadly a very necessary part of life. And I totally agree with you, you know you are where you are supposed to be, when the sense of passing time disappears.
Cheers.

Yes waiting is really horrible as if we are on pins unless you have company.Waiting for the bus or train especially when is late by hours is the worst experience.G.K.Chesterton says that while waiting be iamaginative -taht is imagine yourself as some character and enjoy the long wait .But I dont know whether it is possible in our day to day life. The most awaited moment is for your children's arrival .Of course we become impatient but still we can enjoy those moments and ponder over our past company with them.

I like the way G.K.Chesterton thinks. Use the time we are waiting to be imaginative, I like living the in the theatre of my mind. I see myself as I wish to be, and I know One day I will become that person.
The child is here already, I could have waited a few years longer for that, can't wait till he is big enough to have really good talks with though.
Cheers.

I am sure their are people that would rather wait until the end of time, then do something they don't want to do as well. Waiting can be used in a variety of beneficial ways, the suspense of waiting in the movies can be used against you, especially in scary movies. Where when the wait is over the killer is right their, and half the theater wets their pants.
It could also be used as a time to organize your thoughts and feelings, build your confidence before speaking and multitude of other things. I am waiting on the Government right now, I know they won't let me down, I just really really want to get the ball rolling on moving into my new home. And I have to wait for someone else to get it all worked out.

Waiting..........waiting........ waiting.........
Hello CJScott, Sorry to hear you have to do so much waiting. Well now, let me think here for a moment. What is i that I usually like to do while I am waiting??? Usually I will try to pretend as if the waiting doesn't really bother me. As I'm probably one of the most patient people you will ever come across. Accept for when it comes to eating, lols. When I'm ready to eat I want my food and I want it right there and there. That is why I often say think that people that work in the food industry will always stay employed. As there will always be a line of hungry people that don't like to cook or wait. Anyhow what I like most about waiting is that it give me a short rest in between the things that I need to do. To improve the feeling of waiting I might just try to whistle a tune inside of my head. Or sometimes I may just starting singing or talk to the person in front of me or behind me. Well that's about it as far as waiting goes........ Sometimes it does me good to pray for strength to endure the wait. Happy mylot!

I completely agree, there is always jobs open in the hospitality industry. Because there will always be people who can't or won't cook for whatever reason! Do not be sorry for me, my dear, Waiting is an essential part of our life. I read somewhere once that we will spend something like 3 months waiting at red traffic lights, in 50 years of driving regularly. I have just got to accept waiting for what it is, the time to pray and meditate that what I want will happen. I am liking this whole, what you think about is what happens messages I keep getting everywhere. Cheers.
