What do you have to go with your tea?

We usually see teacakes and tea biscuits in supermarkets and persumably they are served to go with tea. Do you have any personal preference that you think to be the best tea snack? I know some people like to dip their biscuits in tea because it makes the aroma soaks into biscuits which become very smooth to eat. But I think cream bun and fruit cake are better choice. It feels nice when all the greasy but yummy parts are washed down with warm and bitter fluid. :)

Hi his0yir, a winters day, rain lashing outside, huddled round the fire, old black and white film on the television, and afternoon tea. Well of course it has to be hot toasted cripy crumpets oozing with butter. I'm letting my imagination run wild now as crumpets haven't been introduced here yet and the last time I had them was two years ago when a tourist kindly brought me a packet from England. Apparently you need a special piece of kitchen equipment to make them which is difficult to get hold of nowadays. Try them, they are wonderful.

I like crumpets! I guess living in England gives me priviledge to enjoy them, although sometimes I feel a bit uncertain what to do with those little holes on them. I usually grill them with cheese and butter and eat them as lunch. Savoury food feels formal to me, so I never associate it with relaxing tea time. Thanks for sharing. I like your tea snack.
