I’ve had some friends look at me weird when I say I can taste differences when I drink water. When I travel and have to drink from the tap I can always taste a difference. In general I drink on bottled water even at home. What about you? Can you taste differences in water when you travel or am I just special?

Hello, here in the US the water I can hardly tell the difference because it has been proven that bottled water is filtered tap water or at least most are just filter tap water. I don't know about any place else but our water doesn't tast bad at all.The best water I have ever had was at my grandmother house. It was drilled and came in through the well.Only difference I knoticed was how it affected my hair. The water was always cold.

I could understand why you have a preference for bottled water. I would too if I got sick from spoiled water. My mother doesn't like water, she never said why she don't like it.One year when the family went to San Diego on vacation it was sooo hot that summer she couldn't get her thirst quenched she actually drank bottled water that summer but she hasn't since then.

Yeah, I've seen that on TV more times then I can remember that bottled water is tap water yet I still perfer the taste of "bottled" water. I think a lot of it also has to do with me getting ill as a child from infected tap water.

I like drinking water and have some good water at my house. I think there are many people who like to drink wate and defintiely like to try some different ones and designers water. I think there are many things you can do with your water and you can defiitnely do some nice things with it in terms of tasting it I dont know whether you can or not.

We have a filtered tank in my house with a seperate spout. So we basically have a constant run of bottle water. May be that's why some other waters taste funny to me. :)

Oh yes, definitely there is a difference in the taste of different water. It depends on where it comes from, the condition of the pipes it flows through, and what has been added to it. Many treatment systems include chlorine, fluoride etc. I can't drink the tap water at my friends house because it tastes like there is bleach... yuck At my house sometimes it is fine and other times it will have a funny taste. I prefer going to the spring and getting my own bottles of water. Of course this isn't always easy to do, so I buy water or drink the tap water. When I travel I try to drink bottled water if it is outside the USA or I am told the tap water is terrible.

Hi there, There is nothing weired to express when you tell you can taste water. Yes I too have a tongue that makes sure that one glass full of water is different from another glass and so and so forth.

The city I live in has better tasting water than all the surrounding suburbs because of the highly sophisticated water treatment plant in our area. Even so, I still prefer the taste of bottled water to the taste of even our excellent tap water.

I can definitely taste the difference. Blind fold me, give me water from 3 places I have been to and ask me to guess, I am sure I would succeed in making the right guesses. Water in its purest form is a colorless, odorless, tasteless liquid. But the water we drink is generally not tasteless. It has some dissolved minerals and/or chemicals. They have a taste and hence we can distinguish the taste based on this.

I can taste if there is chlorine in water and I can taste if the water is hard and has alot of minerals in it.
