Will Desktop PCs be a thing of the past??

The new trend is that fewer people even look to buy the personal computer or desktop anymore.While laptops are going like hot cakes straight from the oven.
This is very good if we can implement a generlization in the structure of the laptops and make it in such a way that any part can be upgraded as easily as in a desktop pc.
If this is possible than all the daily use comps will be more portable less power consuming,etc.This should be the idea in the future.

Well I am looking to buy a desktop after years of owning laptops. Laptops I think are good for occassional use but not for everyday. Though I know many will disagree with me. I think maybe I just haven't bought a good enough laptop. I am actually looking to get the new touchscreen from HP. There is no tower as it is built into the screen and the screen can be wall mounted. I can't wait until I have enough saved to buy one. =)

Its true that u get more bang for ur money in case of a desktop.
the thing about laptops r that if u own them for a time u get used to its mobility,etc.its difficult to go back then.
Don't worry too much about saving,the prices will only go one way and thats down baby down!!
