I am female. Before I had children I hoped to have a daughter and a son. I would have wanted a daughter if I had only had one child. Things worked out differently from that. Now I feel that my family is complete and that makes me really happy. I have recently had a baby daughter and I have two sons as well. Yes, I prefer a male as the eldest, for he is the one to be responsible enough if parents are away. Then, a girl because she is so adorable and girls are more sweet to their moms.

i have four children, 1 boy and 3 girls. they are all teenagers already. i guess it is not on what you like it is how you bring them up. if you bring them up with respect and in a good way then no matter if that is a girl or a boy then they will grow up to be something you are going to be proud of. when i was still single i wanted to havea son. my sibblings are all girls, father is the only guy in the house. so a son would be perfect. lucky my first born was a boy. but as years goes by i realize it is not what the gender is, it is how you are going to raise them

Whenever I walk around the baby and toddlers department while I do my normal shopping, I always wish I have a daughter because all the dresses, shoes, hair accessories, etc are so sweet and attractive. There are not many choices for a son, all the t-shirts, shirts and pants still look the same despite the colour and the prints are different. Besides I always believe that daughter will tend to stick to the parents at all times even when she gets married and have her own family. However the son seldom take cares of his own parents but will focus on his wife and his in laws after getting married. I have seen many of such cases in my country and it's pretty sad.. There is a saying in Chinese "If you have a daughter, you gain one more son in future (the husband of the daughter). If you have a son, you can assume you never have him before because you are going to loose him after he gets married."
