How many people lost job in the poor economy?

The economy is very bad form Otc,2008 to May,2009.It is change a little better now...But it cunld not compare with the same time at last year..
Our sell is reduce so much,it is only 40%~50% as the same time of last year.
How about you,friends?
My some of my friend had lose job,as well as my husband....Very hard to find a new job...6 month...my husband lose job for 6 month already.
The salary offer by the salary is very very low,only as 50% as his former salary..
How to deal with?We are live in a bog city,every thing need to pay..And we buy a new house on the end of last year..it need to a huge payment every month...
When the economy would be same as before?

Hi,
This is really a devastating time for many people who had a great life and good employment. Unfortunately, the downturn of the economy put many people in the "red"(financially broke). I am blessed, I work education at an elementary school and my job, so far, is in tact. I noticed Friday that the stock market had reached a little over 9,000, which is a good sign that we are slow turning around for the better.

Yes,same as our country,the stock and the price of the house is increase in the several months....Everything shows the economy is change better now...

Had you or your friend find a new job now?Or try ot do the business by himself?
My husband tyr to do the business,but just a hard beginning....
