this site seems to me to be a bit clogged up with very similar discussions. to tidy things up a bit how about one of the anti-obama posters making a list (there's only a few topics that keep coming up - birth-certificate-healthcare-origins-islam etc) and posting it as one discussion? do another one for palin and we're sorted.
Might be a bit more dynamic after that...
jb (and yes i know this discussion'll annoy those that like saying the same things over and over again, but so be it, looking forward to my star dropping)

My Star has already fallen, so I have nothing to look forward to.
I'm Canadian, and one of many millions of non-American Obama admirers. The one anti-Obama Post of which I am totally sick, is the Birth Certificate Post. Was he, or was he not, born in America?
Lets face it- President Obama is the best thing that has Happened to the USA in a very long time. America was going down the tubes, and fast. Then Obama appeared, and the world sat back, took notice, and Thought about giving America another chance.
Obama has accomplished more for his country and the world, in his few months as President, than his predecessor did in 8 years. When will Americans smarten up and see the light?

i'd agree on the whole here, i'm always wary of any politicians. (made the mistake of voting in tony blair back when i was 18...). but also, as i wrote above, so many of these discussions are almost exactly the same that whenever i see yet another i feel like jumping in with a rude comment jb

Those kinds of arguments (birth certificate) are stupid. There are however plenty of things to dislike about the Obama presidency thus far. Just a short look at how much money is being spent and some questions of how we are going to eventually get out of debt should show us that Obama is creating as many problems as the last few presidents. Big government is always bad. Bush made it bigger. Obama is making it bigger. When will we have a president who respects the freedom of individuals and decides that government should no longer make everyone's decisions for them?

I am sure you would find a discussion on Sharia Law in the UK more interesting. At least we do not have Sharia law here in the USA (yet).
Sharia law UK: Mail on Sunday gets exclusive access to a British Muslim court
Excerpt:
In a shabby converted sweetshop in Leyton, East London, a group of burka-clad Muslim women sit in a waiting room. They have an appointment with Dr Suhaib Hasan at his twice-weekly surgery.
Inside, the atmosphere is just as stifling. There are no magazines, television or other diversions. The beige walls are bare except for a flow-chart depicting the process of securing a Muslim divorce, and a picture of Mecca.
This is no GP's surgery or Citizens Advice Bureau. Within these non-descript walls lies the nerve centre of sharia law in Britain, the headquarters of the Islamic Sharia Council, which oversees the growing number of Muslim courts operating in Britain.
For the first time, the Islamic Sharia Council has granted access to a newspaper to observe the entire sharia legal process in Britain. Over several weeks, I was allowed to witness the filing of complaints, individual testimony hearings and the monthly meeting of imams, or judges, where rulings are handed down.

Is this what we can expect if Obama brings his Muslim views to the USA and of course lets not forget your support in other discussions approving of Illegal Immigrants (another of Obama's causes).

couple more things - because i am actually able to think i have had strong views for far longer than your president has been in the public eye but i don't take things at face value - i look into the reality as far as is possible. also if you'd bothered to read what i posted on immigration properly you might have seen it wasn't about approval (or as darkjedi so eloquently put it, being an illegal lover), it was about reactions to illegal immigrants. i think i mentioned that immigration should go through legal channels. i expect criticism here but please try to make it reflect what i actually said rather than what you thought i said.

For the life of me I don't understand the problem. Don't open the darn thread if you don't want to. Got it? It seems pretty freaking easy to me. If you don't want to read the updates on the birth certificate, pass them over!
Geesh!

piasabird What really get me is that this guy sticks his nose into so many of the very discussions he is complaining about. Yet here he is adding another Obama discussion!!! Talk about two faced!
