My 6th grade teacher was my favorite teacher ever...she was always so nice & so patienr with me & everyone else & had the nicest personality out of all the teachers I have ever had...we stayed in contact for a couple of year after that, but then she moved away & began teaching somewhere else...I really miss her, but have had no success in finding out where she is or being able to contact her...

My 5th grade teacher was really cool. Instead of doing regular work, we would do these long projects.
One time we built a giant "space station" thing out of trash bags. But it was huge, so we had to build it in the auditorium. It took a month to get everything ready and then we built it all in a couple days.
Now that I look back, my teacher probably just didn't want to grade any work. It was a really pointless project to do. I don't think we learned anything, haha. It was fun though.

Your teacher was actually doing something that more teachers need to do. She gave you a break from the rigors of academics to allow you to use your mind and imagination. Sometimes when you are don;t have your head in the books and school deos not feel like work, then you think you aren't learning, but you are always learning something and what better way than hands on. I think your teacher was probably cooler than you realize.

That's a very nice question. Brings back all the happy memories of my school years. Yes, my favorite teacher is my Geography Teacher in high school. I travel to many countries around the world, and wherever I go I keep recalling what she taught us about that country, about that place. I had the fortune of seeing her many times after graduation too. My gratitude to my favorite Teacher !

Between 1989 and 1991, I had a typing professor that was awesome. Because of her, I improved my typing and keyboarding skills. She rewarded us with chocolate kisses when we did well. I discovered chocolate was a fantastic motivator.

Maybe I should have had your teacher. I took typing several times and for some reason I do not have the patience to learn the keyboard. I still type with two fingers. I do it really fast, but I would love to type the right way. I know chocolate would have been a great motivator as food in general does tend to motivate me to do many things.

my 6th grade teacher was my favorite teacher too. He was new teacher when i was in 6th grade. My first impression to him was really bad. He always caught me talking and throwing paper balls in the class. I was first one to be scolded in his first class in our school.
But i made good impression later on as i scored good marks in his subject and remained silent in following days. He even told that i was his best student in the class. and that he liked the way i answered question in his exams. It really inspired me to do better.
He also taught us in grade 7,8,9 & 10. In all the years he really supported me and guided me and encouraged me to do better. And i slowly progressed in studies. Once i had lost hope of studying thought i won't be able to pass the exam. IF he had not motivated me then, i would have failed the exam. And i realized my potential. and i always thanked him for that...and he has always been my favorite teacher.

I have two favorite teachers. Both from my English class in HS ang college. The female teacher that i really admired was the one from Highschool...she inspired me in a lot of ways and helped me in my writing. She knows how to recognize efforts and she rewards them.
the other teacher is my male English teacher in college. He was a polyglot and i was so amazed with his stories. To some he's a nerd but for me, he's the smartest and one of the few wise men around. He is very understanding, deep and soulful. I see part of me in him that's why i admired him so much.

My high school English teacher was nicknamed Big Val. She was really strict in class, but outside it, I had the best discussions with her. I was being raised by my aunt and uncle who were much older, and not much help with the issues I was facing. Valerie helped me pick out clothes, kicked me in the butt a few times when I really needed it, and taught me a lot about growing up. I'm sure she was a good literature and grammar teacher too, but, I will always remember her kindness and her caring enough to go out of her way to help me.
The other teacher I really adored was my philosophy professor in college. He was a hardline conservative (I'm a liberal) and we had the best arguments ever! He almost never got mad, and he would never back down from an argument, so we would be debating half the night sometimes. He was a really good friend who taught me the value of learning the other side of the argument, so that you can defend against it.

I left high school about 25 years ago, I always remember my Maths teacher in the 4th and 5th year (age 14-16 - I don't know how to say that in the new style years) as being someone I appreciated as being a softly spoken and very good teacher. He had a way of explaining Maths problems that made it sink in and stay there. I got a B for my O level in Maths which I was very proud of at the time as I was generally a very mediocre student in school averaging Cs in most subjects... But due to Mr N's style of teaching I learnt a lot and have always had a good numerical head on my shoulders...

My favorite teacher has to be Mrs Gan, although I don't think she is aware of it. We used to tease her as the female Michael Jackson, as she wore rubber glove when she used the chalk to write on the board. Why she was my favorite? One day, she came to me and asked me if she could place her cassette recorder on my desk, since that my desk was in the middle of the class. It would capture her voice best. I agreed. So, I said nothing during the recording time. I did not want to get into trouble. Because of that, I started to pay attention. I was surprised how interesting Chemistry was, and began to see the link of one topic to another. I got good marks for Chemistry eventually, although honestly, I disliked science subjects.

My 6th grade teacher was my favorite teacher when I was in grade school. She was very supportive to me to all compitions that we joined. She was so nice and so patient with me and everyone else. She was my neighboor and we always go to school together. Even she was transfered to her new house we still have contract. But last year I heard that she passed away because of her ovary cancer. 2nd favorite teacher was in 4th year high school. He was very patient to teach me with my drafting technics. He saw my potentials in drawing and design and he help me to developed this skills. When we had our college entrance examination, I found out that my skills are inclined to technical, engineering and architectural. So when I passed my college entrance examination for architecture, I very much thank my teacher for having patient in teaching me.

I don't like any of them. I just don't remember any good things about them because most of my elementary teachers love to see their students suffering. Good thing we already have law protecting the rights of the students.=p

This is a very nice discussion. I miss my school years upon reading this one.
Anyways, my favorite teacher during elementary was Ms. Mones, she was my teacher in Grade 1. She's so pretty kind and most of all approachable to all her students. And of course, I like her because I'm her favorite student being a smart kid..lol
During high school, my favorite was my PE teacher, I forgot his name already but he is my favorite because he is really good in teaching.
During college years, My favorite instructor was Mr.Fernandez. He is not just a teacher, he is a friend of mine. We love talking about certain stuffs together with my peer.
I really miss those school years.
