I'm farely new to MyLot so I'm not sure the level of importance ratings are, but whenever I am reading a discussion I ALWAYS rate it before before I jot down my response. I even rate discussions that I do not repond to. Do you rate discussions before you leave your response???

interesting point there. curiously enough, i do not rate. instead, i just go ahead and write my thoughts on particular posts. not that you pointed that out, i might in the future. :)

I usually respond to a discussion and then rate it because just by reading a discussion one cannot understand it's true value or meaning. So,while we respond new ideas come to our mind,we inculcate new thoughts, and then only we are able to under the depth in that particular discussion.. happy myloting..

I rate discussions and responses before I post a response of my own. It is easier for me that way, and I dont forget to rate them that way. I don't give negatives either unless I see someone posting their referral link in the discussion, then I will rate a negative. If responses or comments are only a few words or just one line, then I don't rate them at all. I feel that if someone is going to tkae the time to respond to discussions and they are quality posts, then I feel they deserve good rating. We all want good ratings, but that doesn't always happen since there are some users that will rate negative because someone doesn't agree with them, or maybe they don't like them and to me that is so petty, as we ll have a right to our opinion whether right or wrong and others need to respect us for them, and not get mad because it isn't what they wanted to see. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

This is a very fair way of giving every response a chance for a positive rating IF they provide more information behind what they're saying. Thanks for your response.

I usually rate discussions, if i think that it is good to know, and helpful. I never give a bad grade to a discussion.
