If you had to buy new luggage for an overseas trip - meaning you will ahve to check it in and pick it up at the line up later, what woudl your requriements be? Would you go for a brightly coloured one so that it will be easier to identify? Or go for one which is dull in colour....why call attention to your luggage? Which weighs heavier in your option - cost or durability? Or are you just using the one your travel agent gave you in your last trip?

If I had to purchase new luggage for my next overseas trip I would buy an excellent quality backpack with 70 liters capacity. It would have been made by an great company and I would get it from a huge well stocked camping shop. It would be lightweight and have a superb back system. I would purchase a new day pack as well that I had put at the top of my new main backpack. Most travelers on planes have suitcases and few have backpacks. Therefore the color wouldn't matter but I wouldn't choose green just in case some locals get mistaken and think I am from the military. I go for durability more than cost. I would like my backpack to last for over ten years.

I travel by air quite often. Yes, I always take along the luggage which can be identified easily by the color. There is the name tag ofcourse, but it is better to be able to identify from a distance as the luggage comes on the conveyor. In fact, I prefer to take strong and durable cases, because I sometimes have to take along my work related files and documentation, which get fairly heavy.

Hi there here are some of my requirements. * Wheels - this makes it it easy to wheel an often heavy suitcase around the airport ect... * Durability - this is one of the most important factors. Suitcases are expensive but you will save in the long term if you buy a good quality suitcase. * Color/pattern - The suitcase doesn't neccessarily need to be bright but it should have a distinctive handle, pattern ect.. As long as you can easily indentify it on the conveyor belt then it should be fine. Remember you can always tie a cheap ribbon onto the handle of your suitcase to indentify it quickly. Even more important than choosing a suitcase is remembering to buy and fit security locks onto all the zips you have stored items in this is for security and so that things don't acidentally fall out.
