This is probably a weird question. But I'm ALWAYS looking for mechanical pencils (usually .7 mm lead) that WORK well and write smoothly (without squeaking or being cheap), and I have SUCH a hard time finding them! Which ones would you suggest, and about how much are they?

I normally uses Pilot ones. Don't give me problem like squeaking.. But i uses 0.3 and 0.5.. 0.7 should be equally good i guess. Not sure how much they cost.. but less then 5 dollars.

Pilot are great, but they don't last as long as some other brands to my experience!

I just bought a faber castell one. I got the 0.5, but they had multiple sizes. It's plastic (unfortunately) but seems sturdy. it's automatic and came with B grade leads. less than 5 canadian dollars. I like it a lot so far. Otherwise you could try the pilot S serie - about 9$ (us) each. Also plastic, but is targeted for artists and should be great. In any case, you should be able to find a good one on jet pen. It's a specialised pen/pencil/etc online shop. They even sell the fancy kaweco metal body mechanical pencils! The best as far as I know (my friend swears by it) but also a good 45-55$ US.

Hmmmm well the best way is to go for normal Lead pencil, the only problem in it might be Sharpening it often but clutch pencil/mechanical pencil is good but its quite delicate to handle. oops its my view Byeee
