Why would Satan make anybody feel that Satan does not exist?

I have read a post over here which says that for those who deny the existence of Satan, it is Satan himself who makes them deny his existence. This is surprising. Is this Satan a retard or what? If it is true that Satan exists and he wants people all over the world to worship him, then why would he tempt anybody to deny his existence? If I was Satan, I would do my best to tempt people to believe that I - Satan- definitely exist.

If you don't believe then he's already got you. He doesn't have to fight for your soul, you're already on his side. But its never too late to change your mind!

If anyone is truly interested you should read The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis It is surprisingly wonderful, funny book that kinda explains how Satin works. You can read a few excerpts here http://bama.ua.edu/~casey006/216/screwtape.html Skip preface and go straight to MY DEAR WORMWOOD.

His twisted thinking is that as long as one does not worhip the true God then he gets the worship. He can do much more damage if people don't believe he exists.

Hi lotterylover! That's a great illustration. Criminals hide, they don't like to be exposed. They like to do their dirty work in secrecy, in darkness. But the Bible exposes him for what he is, an enemy of mankind. He did not approach Eve openly but used a serpent to get her attention and arouse her curiousity. He never revealed himself to her. He can do so much more damage since he has convinced and blinded people so that they don't believe he exists.

those poeple who deny satan are fearless of him and if one does not believe in satin makes his work more easier to make one a bad person and force him to do bad deeds without even a sigh of his presence as satan too may not be happy to be on the safe of being the victim rather than the culprit.

I think you miss the point my friend the will of Satan is the will of man, to never grow spiritually and to only want the material things life has to offer. Worship isn't really part of the equation in my opinion, its to derail man kind from growing to our full potential spiritually. If you wanted someone to never look for something higher than it would be easier to let them believe there was never anything more than what they can see with their human eyes. If Satan was to appear than of course you would be forced to reconcile that there is a God and you may begin to question reality as you know it. As you are Hindu isn't there a manifestation of a Hindu god that does the same thing? This is the same that tempted Buddha according to legends. Do I think that Satan is just a manifestation of mans evil side? Possibly but if its just in our head how did it get there to begin with?

I think that most religions feel that Satan's primary purpose is not be worshiped, but rather to prevent people from worshiping God. If people believe that Satan and Hell exists they will hold tight to the principals and rules of their religion. If they believe that he does not exist they have less incentive to follow the teachings of the church, because there is no consequence. Also if he can make people doubt his existence, it only would be logical that they would also doubt the existence of their God as well. I think that is the most popular theology.

And the same goes for the anthropomorphic God who sits out of the cosmos and controls us like puppets despite there being no causal link between the two! This God threatens us of dire consequences if we disbelieve, and He Himself falls short of providing constructive proof. Some say, it's my ego. But everything is God-gifted, ain't it? So why am I blamed and punished? As for Satan, if he's such a trouble-maker, why did the 'perfect' God create him in the first place? And religion after religion although God realizes His folly, He ain't yet successful in wiping out this devil. So Satan actually looks more powerful than the all-powerful! But seriously, the flaw you've pointed is funny! All this proves that both the God and Satan are pure fictional characters! Wait, we'll both be now slandered of being possessed by Satan! Watch.
