New Zealand is a small island nation in the south-west Pacific. At 270,500sq km it is comparable to Great Britain, Japan or Colorado in the United States. With a population of just over four million people it is one of the world's least crowded countries.
New Zealand is an independent nation and a member of the British Commonwealth. The majority of New Zealanders are of British descent. New Zealand's indigenous Maori make up 15% of the population.
English is the everyday language of New Zealand, though English, Maori and New Zealand Sign Language are the official languages. New Zealand's largest religious denominations are Anglican, Roman Catholic and Presbyterian.
New Zealand has no snakes and the only poisonous spiders are the white tail and red back which you don't see much of anywhere.but signals are found everywhere in NZ..Happymylotting

New Zealand is one of the places on my must see list. If there aren't any snakes, I can hardly wait to get there. I don't know about that whole no traffic signal thing but I can't imagine any large city surviving without traffic signals.

I really doubted about these signals. But now I am clear. God bless.

Hi! I'm a Filipina who migrated to NZ. Regarding traffic lights, there are traffic lights in busy intersections. But we have a very unique traffic rule here that lessens the need for traffic lights in small intersections and roundabouts( their version of our rotunda) In roundabouts, we have the Give Way rule which means that you let all vehicle on your right pass first. So even without a traffic light, drivers know who goes first. This system is very effective because the volume of traffic here is very low but I'm pretty sure it won't work in the Philippines!

I guess Ireland is the one you're talking about. Ireland is the land where there are no snakes because of the folklore of the Leprechauns. But it's okay no worries. I'm not sure if there are no traffic lights there. I guess Auckland has loads of traffic lights because it's already a city. For me, it's the not the greenest but it is definitely a clean land. It's my dream to get there!

I am in the process of obtaining a visa for New Zealand. If it's true that there are no snakes there then I'd be staying for good! Snakes give me the creeps.
I'm pretty sure there are traffic lights there except for areas where there is no need to have them (less people).
