in Seattle starbucks isnt just starbucks at all, it is not called 15th avenue coffee and tea. it just opened last friday morning to glaring media attention and anticipation from customers and competitors. how bout that now?
it is just like the same starbucks but this time it is remodeled in a more rustic style using recycled materials. whoaa. great!the store offers beer, wine teas and most especially coffee. sound interesting right? but the question is do this kind of move attract more customers? or they would still go to the trademark starbucks coffee shops? do customers like the new name?
for me, i think it doesn't matter if its old or new, because starbucks has already captured the minds of everyone. i mean, we all know what starbucks is and how delicious they're drinks are, right? in fact, whenever we heard new store or food shop we are so curious about it that we tend to go and try some how it taste and how was the service. so even though starbucks would change its name a million times if we know its still a starbucks store then people would still grab some coffee and whatever drinks they like.

They've built their reputation worldwide up til now with the Starbucks branding, franchising, and merchandising,so why kick all that to the curb and go with something that sounds unrelated and random? (After looking up a review of the "New" Place...) Ah,so it's Starbucks in Stealth Mode, without the Grande Mocha Lattes trying to pull the wool over the coffee drinkers eyes who denounced and avoid the previous incarnation as being corporate coffee Hell in favour of more personal establishments...That's a lot of brand awareness getting chucked out with the bathwater..So does the familiar logo still feature,or any "Formerly known as Starbucks" signage?

I think that the new name is pretty long, and most people would still call it Starbucks because it's easier to remember and it's been there for years.

hi narvech. this kind of move by the starbucks coffee management will soon to get attention of the regular coffee drinkers, not only in the states, but also in our place. i am not a regular starbucks customer but i am a regular coffee drinker. i seldom go to the place but i love their drinks. been there at their ayala cebu store too.
