Over the weekend Vernon Forrest was killed during a carjacking in Atlanta Georgia. He was a great man, but not only for his boxing, which was great, but for his heart and soul. The man, in the 1990s, started an organization for kids with mental and emotional issues such as autism. He did not do this because he had a child with any issues only he met a child once with autism and it changed his perspective. That is what made him great. Many of us meet kids with all types of problems and yet our views never even bend in one direction to another. His organization called Destiny's Child houses kids, helping them to learn and survive in a world that doesn't think enough about them. They will miss Vernon and the world has lost a wonderful man who quietly tried to change the world.
"I didn't want to do something cosmetic. I wanted to know what I do is going to make a difference in somebody's life" --Vernon Forrest
