over the past year From January till now, I have received many gifts and I love that people are thinking of me but I feel like they spend too much on me, I've gotten lots of jewelry, and I am a kind of person who does not like to wear flashy things especially since the crime rates are going up in every city of the world. do you enjoy jewelry? receiving or giving or a treat from your self? afraid of the crime rate?

I have this issue too. I love to gift good classy jewelery as well as to wear it.But then, due to the crimes, I am afraid to wear a chain with a good looking pendent or some nice chunky dangling earrings. My neighbor's chain was snatched just outside our community.Luckily, she suffered no physical harm.Too many incidents have been reported lately.

Oh my gosh! that's horrible, did the chain have sentimental value though? oh her poor soul, hopefully she's not traumatized by such an act. I can only imagine what people who go through such tragedies like this face the world again. I would probably tuck myself away in my home and never want to leave again. At least she wasn't hurt. thanks for sharing bee!

I am sure she was traumatized. She is a retired school teacher. Its really sad, how unsafe the world is turning out to be.And at her age she would feel all the more insecure. I am not sure if the chain had any sentimental value though.
What is so very unfortunate is, where we stay, way too many incidents like this have been reported and I mean too many!! And our neighbourhood is a good one where mostly retired scientists stay.Its on the posher side of the city.Really sad, when in a sense our freedom is taken away.You know?

Jewelry is cool. I'm not a fan of people spending a lot of money on me though. I usually don't wear a lot of jewelry. I usually just wear earrings. Since I don't wear a lot of expensive jewelry, I'm not afraid that anyone will steal from me. I'm aware of the crime rate but I'm in college and I live on campus. I feel very safe on my campus. I don't feel safe enough to walk around campus by myself at night but I feel that I am safe when I walk around during the day. I don't like to go off campus because the school always sends out e-mails about break-ins at apartment complexes and people shooting others. I don't feel like I make myself a target for crime.
