I had my puppies september last year. My husband gave them to me as a gift (actually he gave it to me so I can abandon my cat that he hates so much). I find it weird because since the puppies are young they always seat beside my cat and would play with him too. Sometimes my cat would get pissed and would spank them, but everytime I check I cant see any scatch anywhere on my puppies. Now that the dogs are bigger than my cat, I was thinking they would start quarelling because it was a saying that dogs and cats are born enemies. Still even if they are already old enough they still play around together, though I pity my cat cause he is smaller than the two but he loves being with the 2. below is a pic of my babies when they where still young or cuddly

I am a animal lover. I have had many dogs and cats and raised kittens and puppies. They all do get a long. If the cat is serious and doesn't want to play no matter how much smaller he is, he will warn the dogs and they will understand. One cat scratch is all it takes and they know better. If you cat feels a little overwhelmed it will usually growl first and the dogs will get the point. In some cases if you have an over playful puppy who just doesn't get the point he might get scratched first. But it will all be ok. You are not torturing your cat if that is what you are asking. They have the advantage. They can not only fit in smaller places but they can climb up high to get away from the puppies. One of my cats has jumped all the way on top of our fridge before when we had a litter of puppies. Cats and dogs do get along, who ever said they were enemies in the first place was just misunderstanding their line of communication lol.

Yep some dogs can get them anyways. Ours are pretty big. Sounds like you have it under control. I am sure they will all be happy.

I LOVE IT WHEN MY CAT TRIES TO DEFEND HIMSELF, but I hate it when my husband plays with the babies. He is really making my cat lose... I love seeing them play even when if I hate my entire day I still manage to smile when i see them play. specially when they try to outwit one another. Oh, by the way my cat can fit in small places but maybe because my dog'd breath is golden retriever they still manage to get him out of the hiding place. My can sometimes has no choice but to play. I just make sure all of their nails are cut short so no one will get hurt.

My dog and cat get along OK. I wouldnt say they are best buddies but they get along prety well most of the time. I think they are just the best they can get along they are not best buddies like cats and dogs you sometimes see pictures of but they tolerate each other and are like siblings or roomates. Nor real problems.

It nice that you see natures born enemies became friends. Maybe I just do worry alot cause I love my cat more than dogs so I dont like my cat always being crushed by my dogs big paws.

Sounds like you need not worry about your puppies and cat they have formed a family bond and will probably do well the rest of their lives.

My dog loves cats, but not dogs (she's a bit confused, haha). Our cat was a feral kitten that my dog started playing with who followed us home (tried to find him a good home, but no one wanted him, so he stayed). The cat loves to chase the dog and they play together all the time. It's funny to watch them play, my little 10 pound cat will pretend to beat up my 50 pound dog, and the dog thinks it's great fun! Oh, and believe me, when your cat gets tired of the game, he will let the dogs know. More than likely he is the boss of the trio. They are adorable!

I like the way you described your dog as confused hahahaha :)) I think he doesn't know that he is a dog. My mom's old dog used to milk my oldest cats in my parents house. She is also confused if she is a dog's mom or a cat's mom. She would even growl at the real mom whicj is a cat. hhahaha

my dogs and cats are like that, they play and sleep together... but when my dogs saw some cats in the neighborhood, they chased them... they also share beds and food.
