Problems with Tortoiseshell cats?

I was wondering if anyone has had similar experiences with tortoiseshell cats as I have. My cat is the cutest and most sociable kitty I have ever had, but she has also managed to be the most troublesome. When I first brought my kitty home from the animal shelter, despite putting her in a safe room, she managed to fracture her leg and electrocute herself in one evening. Please note the electrical cord was hooked up very tight and secure. Thankfully she was fine after some rest, but the vet's comment was "she is a typical tortoiseshell." Now that she is older, she still finds ways to get into trouble, such as chewing through a pair of headphones, stealing objects off tables and losing them forever. This is my first tortoiseshell I have had, so I wanted to know if anyone else had some funny stories about their multi colored kitties!

we call it a "torti-tude" because every torti or calico we've ever had has been all attitude!

I don't think the color has anything to do with this cat's problems, she sounds bored and frustrated. You are just going to have to put dangerous things away from her. Good Luck
