everyone has inevitable times of boredom at work and yet, to look bored to your supervisors is a big no no! what do you do to pass the time at work?
do you surf the net? wander around? go to the washroom? get a drink? shuffle papers on your desk? what?
as for me, the bosses frown on it if you spend too much time on the internet, just aimlessly surfing but i do check my mail or go on etsy to have a look. how about you?

Yup! my work as a call center agent is quite boring at times. Its repetitive and its the same work everyday but at least it pays better than my previous jobs and its a lot easier also and that keeps me happy.

OMG... I wish I had enough free time to even be bored at work. Every single second that the company is paying me is filled with calls and more calls. I think the only time I have pauses in between calls is when there is a holiday.

I used to be naughty at work when work was slow, I would slip out and go down to the post office which was next door and I used to buy stuff there instead of using up my lunch time period, no one would miss me, and I didn't smoke anyhow so I used to get annoyed at the smokers going out for a crafty smoke break when it was quiet, non=smokers always lose out, so I intended to get my non smoke break too! I am good at feigning being busy at my desk, I usually have a boring website up on tabs so if the boss comes in I flick back to the tab with the boring website LOL!

sometimes i do get bored at work, whenever i'm done with my stuff or when i just don't feel like doing anything haha. usually when that happens i chit chat with my colleagues for a bit, listen to music (with headphones on), surf the net and chat on IM with my friends.

I work in an area that requires me to wait on people and only use the computer to post food purchases. We don't have internet access. Also, I hardly have time to sit, grab a bite to eat or use the restroom when working. Just myself handling the snackbar area and selling food and drinks. When I worked in an office fulltime, never had a computer since it was so long ago. Save my computer time for when I am home or babysitting our grandbaby when she is sleeping.

Hey. I guess I've got the best job in the world. When I do get bored, I just read email, play on mylot, or play games on pogo. I am the only one in the office and most of the time the boss is out, so Im by myself. Needless to say, no one cares what I'm doing. LOL As long as my work is done, that is. Which it usually is before lunch. So other than answering the phone when it rings, I pretty much just have to pass the time the best way I know how. Have a great day!

Being in this company for 5 years, im totally bored with my work already, being routenary and all that. And i guess im lukcy because our bosses dont stand beside us when were surfing the internet most of the time. Just as long as were meeting the metrics and not being absent, thats what matters to them most.

It is rare for us to sit down during our shift as there is always something that needs doing. The only time I have used the computer in the 18months I've worked there was when I had to complete an incident form about a minor injury. There is usually an overlap of staff for about an hour in the afternoon so thats when the equipment trolleys are re-stocked and general tidying is done.

When I used to work in an office, I tend to roam around or go downstairs and smoke as well. I know that it's not a pretty good habit but I do also go to my friends at work's desk.
