this morn on weird news they was telling about a new chocolate made with camels milk i wanted to give the link but couldnt figure out how anyway i did a search and couldnt find any discussions about this so hope im not doing a same or an old.heres what i did copy of this news. A Dubai company has created a line of high-end camel chocolates. Not camel-shaped chocolates, but chocolates with actual camel milk used in place of the normal moo juice. I thought I'd be clever and use the word "camelicious" to describe these delicacies, but it turns out Camelicious is the name of the local company the supplies the camel milk for the chocolates. They also sell camel milk in cartons for drinking or maybe putting in coffee, or whatever else you might do with camel milk. anyway, have any of you tried it? would you eat it? dont think i could.

It's sounds good. I love fancy chocolates. Not just the regualar ones you get at the store. I don't care for Hershey's or ones like that. Here is a link: http://www.arabianbusiness.com/535715-dubai-firms-world-first-with-camel-milk-chocolate

Have you tried the chocolates with the camel's milk in them yet? They might be really good. I would only eat hershey's if Lee's truffles were not available. I am kidding. I have eaten them. Just would rather have the Lee's.

There's nothing wrong about camel's milk it is more nutritious than any other milk. It is popular in Middle East I haven't tried it I'm willing to tried what it is taste like. It is hard to distinguise I think if they combined it with chocolate. It is a good alternative if you want less fat.

Umm..I don't know if I could knowingly eat it..my brain works that way..even if I know it might be good and everyone else loves it..If my brain is going yuck! then I can't force myself to eat it without feeling or getting sick. No I haven't tried it that I know of..how do we know it hasn't been used in other things as substitutes of regular milk before? But then ignorance is bliss..

Camel milk contains five times more vitamin C than cow milk, less fat, less lactose and more insulin, making it a good option for diabetics and the lactose intolerant. I think it's a great idea. It would certainly be more nutritious. I would be quite willing to try it. That's funny that you thought of "camelicious" as well as they did.. Brightest blessings, Mari http://www.arabianbusiness.com/535715-dubai-firms-world-first-with-camel-milk-chocolate http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090721/od_nm/us_chocolate_camel_odd

i am a chocolate lover and i would try the chocolate once if i did not like it then i would not eat it anymore. the only milk that i have ever drank was cow milk and it had to be chocolate. i did not like the white cow milk. if i can get the camel milk in chocolate i would try it too or i guess i could add some chocolate syrup to it and then try it and the other thing is the milk would have to be very cold i do not like warm milk. i am sure though that i would not drink camel milk to often though because i am not a milk drinker.

I don't know that I could eat that or drink the milk. But they probably think the same thing about us drinking cow's milk. Camels are just so nasty, they spit at you and they're mean or so I hear. Cows-unless it's a bull or mom with a calf-are pretty gentle and they're very intelligent. I don't mind eating their dairy products but I've pretty much stopped eating beef. Anyway, I might taste camel chocolate once but I'm not sure. It's just kind of a yucky concept for someone like me who's never even tried goat's milk!

This is really funny to me, I recently saw a carton of goat milk, and I thought that was cute, there is a little cartoon of a goat in the carton. I am not sure I will be buy camels milk. It seems to me that any other milk that is not cow's milk is expensive. I am not sure why, soy milk is like twice the price of regular milk, and I am not going to buy that no matter how healthy they say it is.

me either. only thing i really liked at my uncles farm was the butter milk they made and most people dont even care for that. im not much a milk drinker anyway since when the kids were little i saved it for them. cause we seldom had money for lots.

LOL I do not need to picture the camel. I am visualizing the taste and it is already bad. heck, I am a city girl, I did not like fresh milk when I had a chance to drink it.

Sounds good to me. We use buffalo milk for mozzarella and it's excellent. It's not good for drinking, but with the fat content and nutrients, it's great for cheese. For chocolate making, it's probably not cost effective to use cow milk. It's probably too hot there for herds, and too expensive to import fresh milk. I'd be willing to try it with an open mind.

what? your kidding. i didnt know buffalo milk was used for mozzarella i dont know tho. buffalo is pretty close to a cow. our ancestors here, Native americans did use them for a lot of things but i thought they were pretty well wiped out?

Buffalo at Wichita Mountains - Witchita Mountains is a preserve were buffalo roam freely. It's fun to drive through to see them.
They were at one time, but they are making a huge comeback. If it uploads, I've attached a picture taken at the Wichita Mountain preserve here in Oklahoma where you can see herds of them wandering around. A friend who lives in Indianapolis actually lives next door to a buffalo/dairy farm. Mozzarella made from buffalos is called 'buffalo mozzarella'. It's usually sold at the deli counter in soft whilte balls in water and has a wonderful flavor. Feta cheese has become more popular in this country. It's frequently added to salads as well as being in many Greek foods. Did you know that it's made from goat milk, or a combination of goat/ewe milk?

Here's a simpler meal for you...which would leave more time for the camel chocolate ice cream: Slice tomatoes, arrange between slices of fresh buffalo mozzarella. Drizzle with olive oil and fresh shredded basil. Cover and refrigerate for several hours, or while you're at work. When you get home, serve with a nice crusty bread. When you're done have a BIG dish of the camel chocolate ice cream....LOL

Camel is the good source of health healing. Camel's milk, meat, liver, all are good for your health. So, I think, by making this chocolate from camel's milk, we can enjoy eating chocolate without worrying of fats! =)

Oh yes, I might try it out just for the novelty of the thing! In any case, I think its more in our mindset that we are inclined to moo juice but I’m sure you know that people all over the world make do with any milk that is available locally. Dubai is ideal for such experimentations with camel milk coz obviously its local there…you know how people in many parts make do with yak milk or goat milk. In any case, if the product hits off well globally, it might to a world of good to other desert areas where there is little scope for alternative livelihoods but camel’s milk is naturally available…they could follow suit and have a viable option of income.

Hi there! It is a news to me. I have not heard about chocolate being made of camel milk. I believe it would taste different than the normal chocolates and it may be expensive also. Hope anyone mylotter who is from Dubai reads this discussion and confirms the same.

We have to take into consideration that they use the milk from animals that are available to them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it would be cheaper if they use the milk from their local animals rather than importing cow's milk. Using camel's milk might be weird for us but normal for them. Anyway I would like to try it. Who knows? It might even taste better than regular chocolate.

I bet you they taste good. Its kind of like that brown cheese that comes from goats and goes good with apples. They sell it at Henry's. Do they use extra sugar or anything like that? I wonder if its lowfat?
