Hey guys while I am doing our laundries now I saw a bunch of ripe bananas in the corner of our kitchen.
I decided to cook it in just boiling it with plain water since this is one of my favorite to have on ripen bananas. For some they would cook this as "maruya", "pinaypay" or whatever they called it...
By the way, this kind of banana would only be good if it would be cooked though some people also likes to have it eaten being just ripe.
Some of us call this "cardaba", "sab-a" or "cadisnon" or whatever...(hope you got I mean)
Anyway, how would you like it cook?
By the way, i like it also cooked and eaten together with anchovy "ginamos"..

Hi mobheimeir!
For a little while I was stunned by the title of your topic, and find it very helpful to read fully the whole topic before answering.
Actually, I just want to eat banana when they are ripe naturally, after eating a meal which we called "pamutat" in our native language.
I also loved fried "saba" with caramelized sugar or more popularly known as "banana que". It is more tasty and crunchy when the "saba" is still hard or not yet fully ripe.
Have a nice day!

I like plantain banana or saba when it is make it into turon, maruya and ginataan. I don't like the boiled unripe saba Ilonggo like it like my parents they dip it with ginamos. I like nilupak the saging I miss it a lot the last time that I have eaten when we went to province when I was 12 years old. My grandfather have many banana trees planted in his farm he has many varieties of it. I also like banana que. I'm like riped saba I simply eat it as it is. My mother scolded me everytime I eat the saba that she supposedly put in her pochero.

If it's fully ripe, I like it as it is. No cooking. If over-ripe, I like it boiled. There are lots of ways cooking banana, you can also add it in lots of dishes and even cakes. I don't like much eating boiled banana with fish paste (bagoong/ginamos) but I will enjoy it when with friends or in a picnic. The other alternative to cook unripe banana aside from boiling is to make it as banana chips.

My husband likes to fry bananas in the frying pan with butter, and brown sugar. They are really good that way. We sometimes eat them just as they are, right out of the frying pan, other times we eat our friend bananas over vanilla ice cream. We really like them fried that way.

Oh, I love eating bananas. I eat them regardless of how they are cooked. Among my favorites are what you already mentioned the boiled banana with ginamos. I like bananaques too (grilled bananas then buttered and sugared), I also like fried bananas then coated with caramel. But my number one would have to be banana with gata (coconut milk). It is like ginataan but only with bananas in it. No jellies, ube, nangka, etc. Only bananas. They taste so good.

Hello my friend, what I mean was " How would you like to cook your banana/"?
Mostly it is already ripe; would you like it for a Maruya, Banana que, Banana cake, if it still raw that would go with anchovy or ginamos....
