I'm just wondering why we still have governments if most of the people don't really like them?
I mean, they're corrupt, most are greedy, and them being there isn't doing anything good for the country (as people would notably say).
So, why the need for government?
Why not abolish the forms and government and have every man for himself? hahaha..
This is just a thought, I mean with all the criticisms governments have (in all the countries in all the world). Why not try one year without government?

When I saw this, it definately struck a chord with me, be a resident of illinois, i was reminded of the blago scandal, and there definately are corrupt politicians, but then again surrounded by that much power and wealth, I challenge any man to resist for to long.
When I begin to wonder why we have government at all, I begin to think of "Leviathan" by Hobbes.
he wrote that people are what give the government power, and government is created by us, to serve us, and as such they should be responsive to our demands.
Government is certainly one of the necessary evils of the world, and I couldnt imagine life without it, but its up to us to live with this leviathan and make sure its doing its duty at all times

Well, the problem is really greed. I doubt there's a government in the whole wide world that could really be called 'honest', there will always be some hidden agenda.
You're right when you said that it's because of power. Power begets greed.
However, it's not only the government who's to be blamed really, it's also the people. We ask too much from the government and all we do is complain, thinking that our demands must be met, else you are corrupted. You know what I mean?
We don't know how to praise what the government does for us (welfare, roads, etc.) but we're too fast at judging its mistakes.
Well, I just no longer see the point of having a government. I'd sometimes wish we were back to the days when the currency is material stuff. hahaha.. we'd be carrying pigs in exchange for wheat.

I can't agree more with you.
When mentioning government, the first word i can think of is corrupt.
They rarely care what the citizens really want.
Most of them value money and power beyond anything else.
Some web sites become inaccessable just because they disseminate something against the government(sometimes the fact), thus the government force them to shut down.
I am totally disappionted with the government.
