I didnt know I was allergic to that

I was eating some soup they other day and I decided to try this new seasoning that purchased at the grocery store a popular brand of flavoring salt, and so I put some in my soup and then 30 minutes later I broke out in this rash and the rash started to spread so I took some children's benadryl and the rashes are gone now. anyway I didnt know that I was allergic to that brand of flavoring salt.
Has this ever happened to you, have ever eaten or used a product and later found out that you were allergic to that produced?

I don't recall ever having that happen with food, but I have with soap!! I keep benedryl on hand for such surprises!!!

I've actually been pretty lucky by not naving too many allergies. The one time I had an allergic reaction was to Vicks cough syrup. I broke out in hives and it was not pretty! I was rushed to emergency only to find out that while the hives were a nuisance, I also had pneuomonia. It was not a good day haha. I've had the cough syrup again a couple of times since that incident but never experienced the same reaction.
