I try to be aware of how much money I have in my bank account and how much credit I have spent and paid back. I still spend money regularly, but only in proportion to how much I have saved. I don't overspend or overdraft, which I am always aware of when it comes to my accounts. Some times I get tempted to splurge, but I tell myself I need to spread out my spending.

My parents urged me to save my money since I was a kid. And now it has become a habit. Me and my husband always save around 23% of our income every month. It is not easy, but we are realize how important this is. Some easy tips for saving your money:
1. pay yourself first. one thing to do after receiving salary is save some portion of the salary to your account (the one you cannot withdraw anytime).
2. but what you NEED, not what you WANT.
3. use your credit card wisely and only in case of urgency.
4. one thing me and my husband do is make weekly budget, for example our weekly budget is $75 for fuel, food, daily needs, etc. we withdraw $75 every Monday morning, and always think that we don't have more than $75 for this week. that's helps us to spend the money wisely.
