Animal Abuse

I get very angry when I hear about animal abuse, they could be such sweet creatures and great friends and yet there are those who would torture those cute little guys. My own cats were abused when they were little, they are so cute, how could anyone even think about hurting them? I want to cry even thinking about it. They were born in a wild and when they were very little their mother was ran over by a car. This one family took them in and took a mother to a vet where they were able to save her life, although her legs were broken and she couldn't use her back legs anymore, she lived. The problem was that people who took them in were monsters, they kept these kittens in the nasty wet basement, gave them very little food and of terrible quality too. Not only that but one of the family members would kick cats when he saw them, so they were too scared to come out during the day and would only go to eat at night when he was sleeping. If a cat would scratch him he would throw a cat into a wall. One of the cats they had was so scared to scratch that it actually looked as if he was de-clawed. He could slap you if you tried to touch him, but he wouldn't let his claws out because he was too scared. Granted that same guy was also a paedophile and raped his younger sisters when his sisters were little, what a monster. The problem with this family was that they were friends with many police officers and were able to get away with almost anything. It took my boyfriend a long time to convince them to give the kittens to him, he ended up taking all 3 kittens and their mother. The cat that was there longer ended up getting lost somehow. The guy moved a few times and he took that cat with him, somewhere along the way poor thing got lost. It's a shame, I would've gladly taken care of that cat too.
Kittens ended up getting better and were able to trust people again, they are actually very loving and sweet guys, but their mother was never able to get over the abuse. One day when no one was home she broke the window frame and jumped out. I think she was able to see that her kids are safe now but couldn't bear to live after all that happened to her.
Shame, but there are many stories like this around, people for some reason think that they can get away with anything, torturing animals as well as other people. I wish there was a way to stop these people once and for all, but there is no easy way out of this situation.

I think any kind of abuse is sick, but especially to animals. They cant stop these people, they cant say something is wrong. I dont get why anyone would want to be so cruel! If they can abuse them then they clearly didnt want them much, and should never have got them! If someone cant look after animals properly they should be allowed them. Maybe some sort of test to say you are ok to look after such animals would be a good idea? If you fail the test then you cant buy them. Like a breeder of dogs wont sell you a puppy until you have a certificate to prove you can look after it. That might be a good start. I think its also important if you think anyone is abusing their pet then you should report them. They should be punnished and NEVER allowed to have a pet again! Some of the stories i have heard are so sick, people actually getting away with these things. When i see the advert on tv for a dogs home when it says "My owner took me here and left me" and things like that it makes me want to cry, i could never imagine doing that to my dogs. I love my little girl, and she loves me. I couldnt live with myself if i took her out and just tied her up and left her. The people who can do that must have no heart. There are no excuses like "I didnt know what else to do" - There is dog homes! Give it to someone who will actually look after it and be able to offer it a good home! If the situation ever came up where i couldnt look after my dogs anymore i would be heartbroken, but make sure i chose the best home possible for them to go to, where i knew they would be treated right.
I also wish there was something we could do to stop it. I think it will always go on behind closed doors though, its so wrong!

the worse thing is that some of these people are untouchable, they know too many people to get them out of trouble... it's really sad to see animals in this situation, no one should ever treat their animal that way. People who had my cats before also had 2 big dogs and although dogs could defend themselves and weren't beaten like cats they, didn't know love and were very aggressive. they were actually another problem that cats in that house faced. Dogs can easily be friends with cats, but those were raised in such a way that they hated every little creature they saw. they actually attacked my boyfriend and he has a few scars from them. many people would report it if a dog bit someone, but all that would happen is that the dog will be put to sleep, and it's not even dog's fault. It's a real shame we couldn't do anything to this family legally because of their connections. If only everyone was to stand up and do their best to protect those who need it, so many animals as well as people would be saved, but for some reason too many people love to keep their heads down.
