I have been working on getting paid to write articles over the last ten months. I have found several different services. One that I am using is Associated Content. I wrote a post on my blog about making money with Associated Content. I wanted to get other people's opinions about this site.
If your interested in reading the post it is at http://www.brucesmoneyrants.com/2009/05/is-associated-content-worth-your-time I am always interested in feedback. Also, this is not a referral link. This is my blog. I just linked to the specific page to make it easier because my blog has over 100 entries.

I am an AC fan. Prior to discovering AC, I had a few articles published on Triond and Helium. I have abandoned Triond because of its payment per page view format. I like that AC offers upfront payment and page view payment. AC, also, seems to promote its contributers' works. I'm constantly amazed by the number of page views I receive without promoting my work. (I have to get better at self-promotion.) Because of my articles published on AC, I was able to submit my AC URL to an editor. She liked what she read and offered me my first online writing gig.

Congratulations on your online writing position. I had not thought of submitting my profile URL to other editors. That is a great idea.

If you like Associated Content, you will probably like Bukisa. (PM me for the link, please.)
I write all my AC articles now as non-exclusive and then after they are published, I publish them at Bukisa and they pay only for page views.
I wasn't very active at Bukisa and didn't log in for nearly two months, and even though I had not submitted anything new, I had a surprising jump in my income earned there.
I will be submitting more there every week as a rule now to see how much my income skyrockets!
I do like Associated Content, but if you can publish the same article multiple places and earn more cash, why not do so? The only effort it takes is copying and pasting all your non-exclusive articles from AC into this site!
Best wishes.

I am quite busy right now as I've just moved and have been looking for a new job, but I may bookmark them and check it out in a few weeks. Thanks for the info!

I completely agree, it is very effective to write one article and publish it multiple places. I use a service called Jetspinner. It allows you to write one article and have similar words submitted to make up to 50 articles. It takes a little time to get used to but Jetspinner can produce many very good articles.

I think AC is a good writing site. You shouldn't limit yourself to them however. There are other sites you can sell articles to buyers and set your own price rather than just getting offered a price from AC. Some of those sites you can sell articles on are dailyarticle.com, constant-content.com and niche-content-packages.com. I would recommend first trying to sell articles to associated content and if they don't give you a decent offer then try selling your work on the other sites I mentioned.

Hello bziebarth!!!
Well I don't have very very good experience with Associated content but very little. I have posted about three articles there on Associated Content till date. But I haven't used it frequently. I think though the site is really genuine, it is very hard to make some money from that site. After all I am not very good writer. And I am also weak in grammar. I need some grammar correction site, before posting articles there. Anyway, I succeed to post some of the articles there. 1.5$ for 1000 page impressions, that is difficult for me. I will have to spend lot of time reading others posts and commenting on those posts, to get some impressions for myself.
Happy mylotting...

I completely agree, if you post an article and just walk away then you will not make much money. Early on in my time with Associated Content, a more experienced writer told me that freelance writers are 50% writers and 50% marketers. You have to market your own articles. I would completely agree with this assessment. If you want to make a good amount of money as a freelance writer then you have to market your own articles.

Hi Bziebarth, overall it's a good writing site. Just that they do not pay upfront payment for international writers, so we lose out on a chance to make upfront money.
The difference in income is quite substantial for those who can make upfront, and for us who cannot get the upfront money.
I learn that there is a writer who can make more than $40 per day for just page views. I think if you take into consideration his upfront, and performance bonus, he must be making more than three thousand dollars per month.

schengl,
I completed agree that you can make more by upfront payments. However, several of the very successful (a large amount of page views) write about current events. For instance, they may write about a news story that just came out. These writers make money by optimizing their pages for search engines and marketing their articles. Often, they do not submit them for upfront payment because it can take up to a week to get an offer. By that time, their content is stale. Just a thought.

Hi, I think I read about something about news reporting in AC. Apparently AC hires someone to overlook the news submission, and the news will be published within 24 hours.
Some AC writers still do not want upfront payment for news reporting, because they want to keep on updating the statistics. They can't change or update anything if they submit as upfront

I did not realize that the news reporting was reviewed quicker than other articles. I have not submitted any news articles for upfront payment. The ones I have submitted have taken at least four business days to be approved.
