I just got one yesterday and my arm is still killing. They took so much blood out that my arm turned blue. I'm not even kidding. Does anyone else out there share my opinion in blood tests? Or does anyone out there love them?

I hate all kinds of the injection.I don't want to be sick.I don't like the hospitals and clinics. However if it is important to do, i must do.

I agree. If it's important to do then it should be done. It's just something that is not very pleasant to do and i like to avoid it when i can.

I don't love them, but they don't bother me either. I had quite a few in 5th grade because they were doing a study on the effects of drinking orange juice and even at that age they did not bother me. I always watch when they do them and the needle does not bother me at all.

Interesting that you were in a study about orange juice. Were you ever paid for the blood and testing that they did on you? Did you ever find out the results of the blood test? Ugh. I can never watch them taking out the blood. It makes me feel sick to my stomach.

I dont particularly like them but dont usually have a bad reaction. I was sent on a course (just 2 hours!!) to supposedly learn how to do them. We got to practise on a plastic arm which had so many needle marks that you could hardly miss the vein ... but I still couldn't get the 'blood' out. I don't do them for real because I've never felt confident enough to try it on a live patient and have it signed off. Its a sort of optional part of my job and I opt NOT to! As far as I recall they said that the bruising is caused by the needle going through the vein instead of just into it.

Cool! You studied how to take out blood. I could never do that. haha. good for you though! it's something that is good to know cause you never know when you might need to use that skill. I'm pretty sure that i didn't bruise. My arm just felt very heavy and i couldn't lift it very high without it hurting. The opening has healed over now and i'm good.

Hey, I also hate blood tests, mainly because they have to put a needle in my arm, and it really hurts. Then I can see all the blood from out of my arm go into the actual needle, and I don't really want to see that. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

i hate needles, i have had many blood tests done to me, i do hate them. but i have not experienced something like the one happened to you. maybe the one that took your blood is really not good at it, i have had the same problem with a medical person who dont know how to make the thing work, put the needle in my hand. it took him four times to inject and reinject the needle in my hand.

hi laurahen I do not love them as if the hematologist is clumsy she or he will make a nasty bruise on my arm. but the last time I had it done the girl was so good,it hardly made a mark and no bruise. I am 83 and diabetic so have to have blood tests done every three months. So I had better get used to having blood tests and getting stuck. some are so good at doing it it does not hurt others really stink at it.

wow. i wish all nurses and doctors were like that woman. it would make the process a whole lot better! you must be getting use to having blood tests all the time though. because you have to get them done every three months. I think if i had to do that, i would be able to get use to them. Or maybe i would hate them even more! haha. who know what would happen.
