The ratings of most of the soaps keep dropping and most of them can't seem to see that it is because of the unending storylines where some villian just keeps getting away with stuff because of the total stupidity of other characters. One example is the Y&R storyline of Adam gaslighting Ashley to the point of her losing her baby even though he is half blind and being able to blame it on others. This storyline is driving long time fans of the show away in droves and doing nothing to attract new ones. AMC and OLTL are doing similar things with some of their storylines and their ratings are also dropping.

yeah i agree that dragging the story out is very much irritating, when all you wanna see is to see that justice is served and the villain is caught. I hope that the writers get to learn how to twist around and make a better story where the good wins over the bad sometimes.

I don't know or pay attention much to ATWT, B&B, or GL. Although I know who a few of the characters are. My main soaps are General Hospital and One Life to Live. Heck, I've been sick so much I even watched a little of Days and All My Children. One: Maurice Benard is a terrific actor - why do they write Sonny so hateable, and why does he have to father ten million children?
Second, who are all these young people on DAYS, and why didn't they save the money spent on the newbies, and throw it toward vets like the actors who played Marlena and John? Third: I'm tired of Bo/Nora/Clint. I promise to be good if they stop that whole stuff.
Please never let me see Claudia and Johnny's dad again, please get rid of Annie (AMC), please stop wasting the talents of Jamie Luner (Liza - AMC), and if no one can keep a couple together longer than a week, try some writer therapy!
Hope? Is there some? Lindsay Hartley, formerly Theresa on Passions will now be the recast for Arianna of Days. Which will reunited her with a couple of other ex Passions castmates. Also, Sarah Brown is back in the fold, and I rejoice GH still has her. But put Christine back on Y&R and I'll be even happier.

very true. I've never been a soap watcher until my mom fell sick. I did get caught up in All My Children while caring for her because she just had to watch it each day. She has since passed but I continued watching it a couple of times per week. Not only is the drama long, drawn out and boring.....there is too much of the ridiculous, corny stuff. I find myself only turning it on occasionally lately.

This one has gone on way too long. I can't believe Victor, Rafe, Ashley, Heather, etc., have gotten fooled by Adam. It's just getting ridiculous. And the other Adam over on AMC and the whole Annie thing. I'm beginning to believe that Adam shot his brother accidentally and Annie is protecting him. But I wish they'd out with it already!
