Working on my Birthday

Ya know I looked at this weeks schedule and was dumbfounded to see the only day I'm scheduled at my job is my Birthday! Of all the days I've requested off for I didn't think I'd end up working on my Birthday & I didn't even think about requesting it off til I saw the schedule. Hubby was less than pleased about it. But it's not like we have money to spend on extras even if it's my b-day so to me no big deal plus it's only 4hrs it's not like it's the whole day or anything.
Have you ever worked on your birthday? Was it a big deal to be working? Or do you make sure you have off?

Working on my birthday is not bad. It means i'm still blessed to have a job. If i am permitted to have a day off i would. Who wouldn't want a day off on his birthday, right? But If I am stuck at work i'll make the most out of it.

oh yea.i worked on new year's 1999 too.wasn't happy about that,how often does a millenial change come along?
i try to have it off myself.though i had a co-worker who put in for it every year just to block me.she was a b*tch.

Yes, I have. But at the time, the job was only part time. I went to college in the mornings, and the afternoon I had my part time job. Truthfully, back then I would rather have skipped the classes for my birthday rather than the work. lol I'm sorry you are going to work on your big day. But maybe something good will happen to surprise you.

I have ended up working on my birthday, tho with 4 days off around it, it actually happened less often then you might suppose... One year I realized that my license expired on my birthday and while I had been planning to work that day, I asked for it off to take care of that. I had to do it this last year too - tho I didn't have to ask for the time off, I did it before I went to work.

Whenever I did work, I wasn't big about trying to get my birthday off, although I'd make sure I had a day to celebrate it in some manner. Actually the bigger deal to me was my son's birthday which is the day after mine.
I do remember I had to babysit one of my little cousins on my 14th birthday.
