how do you respond to a compliment

My inital reaction is to blush and to say ''no, im not really or your too nice but..'' and start to argue otherwise. However usually I stop myself and remember to just say thankyou as a compliment is a sincere gift. Even if I seem embarassed I still really appreciate compliments and they often make my day. Anything thing I do is give the person a sincere compliment right back. Perhaps kindness spreads and is contagious. Once you are made aware of positive attributes you see them in others.

when people give me compliment i always smile and say thank you. sometimes if the person that says it to me is a close friend, i will smile and make a joke of it, because maybe they are just having fun of me, which is really what happens sometimes with close friends.
