There seems to be a bear loose in our area! When my friend and coworker came over this morning, for our daily ride to work, she told me that some kids seen a bear running loose in the park last night. Apparently he was right behind our home.
I didn't see or hear anything, but our cat who usualy insists on going out all the time, decided to stay in last night and hide under the coffee table.
So I'm wondering if he sensed something. I'm just hoping that those kids smoked too much reefer or something, because the thought of a bear in my backyard kinda scares me. I honestly wouldn't know what to do, if I ran into one. I'm not very good at climbing trees anymore and would be too scared to play dead. From what I heard that doesn't work all the time anyways and I know some bears can climb too.
Hubby loves bears, so he has been running outside all night hoping to catch a glimpse of him. I hope he realizes that the bear most likely won't be the friendly kind lol.
Have you ever ran into a wild animal? Would you know what to do?

I really haven't....not face to face but my friend that lives in Northern Wisconsin had a bear that was a pest. One night they were watching tv and it was standing on their deck just looking at them....it like the humming bird feeder. It also liked screen porches as it ripped up their neighbor's porch looking for food! Hope your's is friendly!

i would definately NOT be outside trying to find the bear.
i live almost in the middle of nowhere so i see wild animals all the time. mostly coyotes which run from you and gila monsters which can be really nasty and will chase you if you get too close. oh and rattle snakes but they just get shot.
