Hey friends, I want to know what new foods have you tried out recently. Please explain. For example recently I tried out seeweed salad. The first time when tried it out I liked it a whole lot. It had a nice salty flavor and it almost tasted as though it came fresh from out of the sea. Then today, I tried the same dish and it didn't taste right to my taste buds. I don't know what made the big difference but it was almost as if I didn't even like the texture of it. So have you ever had such an experience with a new food? Please tell me what happened. Thanx n happy mylot.
BTW,I think it's a good thing to try out new foods, even if you don't like them at least you could say that you tried it. What are your thoughts and feelings on all of this? Do you just like to stick with what you grew up eating and with what you are familiar with? Or do you believe in giving other cultural dishes a try?

I have never tried eggplant until last night. I used to be really scared of the small seeds it has and I thought it would have an odd taste, but when I first had it, it tasted good. So now, I can have as much eggplant I would have and not fearing those very tiny seeds again.
Happy mylotting!

Trying new foods out.
Hello Chrissa,
Yes I know what you mean as far as the small seeds go in the eggplant. I think that is what used to gross me out about eggplants when I was little and my Mom would fix them. Anyhow I guess my taste buds must have changed over the years because now I'm more accustomed to eggplant. Then too it depends on how it's prepared. If you prepare it in flour like eggplant Parmigiana, it it's too bad. Recently I tried grilling it with Mozzarella cheese on the top and it was oh so deliciosos:)! Happy mylot dear!

Hi friends,I love eating new varieties of food.Normally i won't go out and have food in restaurants rather i would prefer to have food in home itself. So i try out new things on my own and by reading books, watching TV.Recently i tried veg roll.It tastes good. Then i tried that at home.It tastes very delicious than in hotel when i made it home.I love salads, soups, drinks and obviously ice creams. Also i tried cucumber raita last sunday with pran biryani.Very good combination. It is common that when we taste something for the first time it will taste good because we are eager to eat that new variety of food. But when we eat it next time our desire to eat reduces as we have already tasted it.Some dishes would be soo tasty that every time we eat we feel to eat more..

trying out new foods.
Hello Zareenalot,
Thank you for sharing. I know exactly what you mean by when you try something out the first time. Then when you try it the next time it's not as good as the first time. That happened to me with seeweed. The second time it tasted a whole lot worst. So now I'm really skeptical over trying it a third time. But good job on trying out something new. Wow I didn't realize that there were so many different kinds of foods in the world. Enjoy, Happy mylot!

I had tried something new lately. We have this vegetable that we used to add in mongo sprouts together with fish sauce. It is good and it has been proven to cure some diseases. But what I did was I took it raw this time. I just added it to hot water and let it dissolve for a few seconds. And then when that water turns out green, that would be the time for me to drink the water and eat the leaves. By the way, the leaves are what we call ampalaya leaves.
