I just want to share this shocking news (at least for me, it's a bit shocking).
This article from Yahoo Tech website explained it all - Microsoft and Yahoo are now partners with the goal of kicking Google out of internet dominance.
This is the link for the article:
http://tech.yahoo.com/news/ap/20090729/ap_on_hi_te/us_microsoft_yahoo
This is quite exciting, especially with the fact that Microsoft's Bing.com http://www.bing.com is getting a lot of positive reviews.
I also learned from this article that Google is battling Microsoft for computer software dominance (read this on the lower portion of the article).

What do you think of this news?

Cool information. I don't get all the mergers and everything that goes on in the business world. I think that this might be part of the reason the economy is so bad. That companies are merging and then you don't really have start up people anymore because they sell out to the bigwigs. I don't blame the bigwigs for buying, just the small guys for selling. It's also one of those things that it seems to be breaking with american spirit to do that. America is supposed to be a country founded on the princle that small guys deserve a chance too. But, I guess with society the way it is, we can't help but follow the path that all the other countries have taken before us.

Haha, no! I don't know how you got that out of what I just said... anyhow, having done some research on the financial histories of other countries I see that america is following in much the same path, and actually repeating many mistakes that countries who do not have good financial standing today have made. I'm not saying that these countries 'caused' our crises. I'm saying that we did not learn from their mistakes and are repeating them. That's a waste of mistakes!

You best post another discussion saying this one is wrong. Microsoft and Yahoo are NOT partners they are SEARCH partners...just one area of the companies. The heading in your link is
Microsoft, Yahoo! agree on Internet search partnership Note the word "SEARCH"????

Old news really. First Microsoft wanted to buy Yahoo, but since that didn't go through due to the amount of issues, Microsoft created its own search engine and "partnered" with Yahoo. Frankly, Microsoft and Yahoo don't stand a chance together OR apart.
No one says "go Bing it"...

Hello my friend kdmlrys Ji,
The basic concept is 'everyone is trying to prove its own superiority over others'. We are only silent observers. We could only feel if system provided by any one of them becomes fool-proof. This is all mockery and In have less time.
May god bless You and have a great time.

I have not heard of it, I am not sure if it's surprising as many companies are merging these days, from banks to healthcare and more... I have not tried Bing.com for searches yet. I usually stick with Goodsearch.com (powered by Yahoo -- go figure!) because they donate money to the charity of my choice with each search, and I really like that.

That indeed is a shocking news. But from this partnership i see a more strong platform evolving for developers and webmasters. Although current outdated performing personnels will have the fear of being wiped out. As we know professionalism of Microsoft as well as yahoo. Small enterpreneurs are bound to have severe side effects on thier funds flow due to this partnership.
