Have you lost your items before for eg. handphone, handbag,
camera or pets? Did you manage to get it back?
What is your feeling then?
For myself, there in one incident happened a few years back!
I was in the ladies..my son was waiting outside with the trolley.
Normally I brought him in with me, since that day the trolley
is full of things and a lot of people in the ladies toilet, I asked
him to wait outside. So I hurried in and hurried out. Little did I
realise I left my handbag on the shelf behind at the toilet. I was
not focus that day because my mind was preoccupied about my son
being outside! When I just outside the toilet , I realised and
turned back, but the handbag was no more there! I panicked coz
inside there have many credit cards, car keys, wallets, license,
identity card and handphone! I will be in whole lot of trouble!
Thank God, a nice lady found it and leave her handphone number at
the Information Counter...I got everything back... Thank God!
Do share your experience here or some incident your heard of, so
that we can understand and be more cautious in the future! Thanks

Sorry for your experience there. I lost my cellphone once before and it made me so down. It's not so much of the fact that I lost the cellphone but more towards the fact that I lost so many important contacts inside that are pretty valuable to me.

It's my pleasure..
And it's great to have found another neighbor here in that sense, LOL ...
Yes, yes you should come to Singapore soon once you can. There's going to be more nice resorts in Sentosa Island as well so check out for that.
My definition of luxury would be in the form of relaxation. It would have to be cash instead of credit. I don't like the idea of risks and credits that much. Big fan of pay and carry..
As for the Maxis service you've mentioned there, there's that kind of facility here too but I have not used it before.. that's really great for data lost and stuff like that. Perhaps I will subscribe soon. Thanks for your friendship..

Dear zed_k4,
I am very pleased to meet someone here from the neighbouring country!
I heard Singapore soon will be having 2 new casinos and latest
Universal Studios.. I hope I can go there once it opens!
Sorry to hear about your handphone too..be extra careful now!
YES, I truly agree with you, besides the lost of the physical handphone,
the important contacts inside is so valuable..especially those smart
phones, we keyed in so much info inside....'sigh'..
I heard from Maxis (Malaysia) & other line providers, they have this
service which we can pay for a nominal fees, they will keep the
data for us, once handphone lost, it can be restored!
Thanks for sharing, if you are online, hopefully you can share your views
on my previous topic too, especially :-
1)What is your definition for 'luxury'
2) Do you prefer Credit Card or Cash?
Cheers...do keep in touch!

lucky you Iriene88.. I have not got my lost and found.. but I had an experience of finding something that I thought I have lost it. I misplace one of my phone battery in my bag, and after a few days of searching, turning over the bag and so forth, I gave up to look for it.. but amazingly, few days later, when I already thought it was missing, I just put my hand in the bag, and I FOUND IT! and my first action, I send an SMS to a friend telling her there is a ghost in my bag!

Dear cwong77,
Thanks for sharing your experience here...the incident
where something you thought you lost it, then it appeared
a few days later often happened to my husband! He always
misplaced his things, so when he asked me to help him, I
will asked him back "Is the item very urgent!", if he
answered me yes, then I will help him to locate it, if
'Not Urgent'..I will tell him...'it is somewhere out there,
it will appear again later...' my husband will give me a
stare like this...lol
Thanks a lot & have a nice weekend..btw, hit your min. payout?

our daughter once lost her cell phone on her way home from school. she and some friends retraced their steps several times but alas, it was lost! we were fortunate that some kind, older (and honest) people called her and returned it to her. who knows what sort of bill they could have run up!

That is really nice. Not many people nowadays can do that. Once they get the thing, then they ran away particularly handphones. We just have to be really thankful for everything that happen to us. Keep posting. Happy Mylotting. HAve a nice day. Keep posting.

Hi Iriene, it is rare round here to lose something and not have it still there later. I remember a few years back I'd driven into town (yes, over the mountain an hour away). Whilst there I stopped for a coffee in my favourite place and left my jacket behind, but didn't realise till I was three quarters of the way home. I'd already passed a friend from my village driving into town as I was driving back, had to be going through town as the road goes there, so I telephoned him and asked him to go into my coffee haunt and bring my jacket back. Of course it was still there when he got there and it saved me the drive back.

Hi Iriene, yes it is good to feel safe here and know that people will return things which are left behind. However there is a rising tide of crime in recent months which is generally blamed on immigrants who are not as used to the slow easy honest way of life.
Re keeping in touch I sent you a pm a couple of days ago. Thea.

Dear thea09,
Yes, agree on your opinion on the rising of crimes
due to immigrants...(not everyone but some..).
This is what happen in Malaysia and London now! I did
mention about the incidents in my reply here to
jonjee0203.
Thanks, hope the world will be a better place for you
and for me! ..(lyric from MJ's song)
Will read your pm later...thanks a lot, yes we will

I have a very nice experience. I actually lost my wallet. Ah not really lost but I left my wallet in the taxi. I was in a hurry that time because I am suppose to be in school at seven thirty in the morning. I put my wallet in my lap and I have my money ready to pay the taxi driver. I did not realized that when I stand up, my wallet dropped in the taxi and I left there. I only realized that I lost my wallet when in the classroom, I wanted to show my friend some paper money from other countries. I panicked that time because all of my credit cards and special receipts for warranty is inside that wallet. I also have thousands inside. I went home and told myself that I can find that taxi again. I did not even see the plate number because in the first place, I did not know that I lost my wallet. I decided to go to the city late in the afternoon. I waited for a taxi to bring me to the city. A taxi stops and take me to where I will go. To my surprise, that is the same taxi I took and the man did not really recognize me. I asked him if he found any wallet. He just asked me what is my full name. I immediately say my name and he immediately give back my wallet. Then he started telling me what really happened.
First, he did not noticed that I left the wallet. Then when a women took his taxi, the women found the wallet and gave to him. He, the driver, immediately keep the wallet. He send the lady to her destination after that, he opened the wallet and look for any contact number. He found my school identification. But I do not have any number in that wallet. He told me, if he cannot find me, then he will give all the money inside to the church. I can say that he is a nice person. He even talked about his family. I offered him some money but he declined and told me that I am just a student and I need more than him. He is working and I am just merely asking money from my parents. I really thanked him for his kindness and honesty. I cannot find any other person like him this time. He is one of a kind.
Not only losing a wallet I will be sharing to you. I also found wallet. Actually three wallets in three different situations. The first wallet was when I was in Singapore for a study purpose. I was in the supermaket paying my stuff and I found a wallet near those candies and chewing gums tray. I handed the wallet to the cashier. The wallet is really full of much credit cards and thousands of cash. The wallet is obviously fat with thousands of dollars. I did not think twice but to give to the cashier and I have waited until the cashier handed the wallet to the manager of the shop. After that I left and I do not know what happened next.
The second time I found a wallet is in the street together with my friend. The same place, in Singapore. The wallet is in the street and people are just passing by and they do not care about the wallet. You can also see obvious the money inside the wallet. But no people take the chance to take the wallet and give to the authorities. My friend picked the wallet and stayed on the street waited for any person looking for the wallet. But no one seems to appear. We opened the wallet and we have not found any identification or phone numbers or address. We still waited there and we even approach a women to help us where we can actually surrender the wallet. She told us that we can give the wallet to the train station office, since we are near the station. We tried to give to the Lost and Found section in the train station but the person in charge that time does not even want to accept the wallet because it does not have any identification. We cannot do anything. Until my friend decided to take the wallet home. I do not know what he did to the money. But according the the sister, he used the money for good things.
The last time I found a wallet was in the train station, I was with my British friend and we are heading to a beach resort called Sentosa. While in the train, we noticed a small plastic and when I take out the plastic to throw to the bin, a wallet appears. Same as the other wallet, it has thousands of money. One singaporean approach us and told us that he can take the wallet with her to the train station office. We just trusted her and let her do what is necessary.
Those were just my experiences. Thank you for posting this .Have a nice day. Keep posting. Happy mylotting.
Best regards,
Jeff

Dear Jeff @ yuansplace,
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experiences here!
Really aprreciate it very much!
You have your wallet 'lost & found' and 'found' others too!
May God bless the lady and the taxi driver who found your
wallet and save you from all the hassle & troubles!
It is 'miracle' / wonderful conincidence to get the same
taxi back...it is really a 'testimony' to share!
We will return others when we found it because we know the
'feeling' of items lost and experience 'relief' too when we
got it BACK! WE knew it too well, we wouldn't want others
to go thru it!
Give a pat on your shoulder for being a good and honest tourist
in Singapore. I think that particular street where you found
those lost wallets should be called "Wallets' Lost & Found Street"
- just joking...
All the best and hope to hear your views on my other previous topics.
Thanks and do keep in touch!

Wow, iriene, you are one lucky lady there! Thank goodness for that kind lady who found your handbag. I've never lost anything in that way, touch wood touch wood. I seldom carry anything with me when I go out. My ID card and money are mostly with my husband. :)

Dear submerryn,
Thank God...I really do not know what to do at that moment...Stunt
So many credit cards.. no handphone to call to cancel cards,
hubby outstation, no car keys to drive back, no money to go
back by cab, no keys to enter the house....that lady is an
angel sent by God...I really prayed that God Bless her everyday!
She did not leave my handbag with the Information Counter because
she said she only trusted herself, she is very smart. She wanted to
call me when she saw my name card but later she found out my handphone
is also in the handbag, she saw my car keys too, she realised I am
in HUGE troubles. SO, she left her handphone number with the Information
Counter and told them that if anyone come and report lost of handbag,
pls ask the person to call her personally. She will meet the person!
But as I approached the Information Counter, she saw me and roughly
guessed I am the one and asked me for my name & she immediately return
the handbag to her. I told her how should I repay her kindness, I
immediately invite her for a meal...but she said NO NEED because she
knew how I felt..... she LOST her 4WD car before in this shopping mall!
I really appreciate her & this topic is dedicated to her for her kindness!

I have found and return what I found. Twice, I picked up two handphones and both times, they were returned to their owner. I dropped (I think it was dropped) my wallet once (cash, card and keys). I even made a police report but it is gone forever.

Dear whyaskq,
Yippie, nice to meet you again...but so sorry about your
lost wallet! A lot of hassle..police report, cancel credit cards,
if id card...need to go to registrar and so on & so forth!
In Malaysia, if we lost the identity card, we need to make a police
report, with it we need to go to the Registration Office and pay
for a new one ...they will mark (1) if first time lost.. the fine
will be higher if 2nd time lost..marked (2)..therefore we must
always be extra CAREFUL & check our belongings!..AT ALL TIME!
Give a pat on your shoulder for being a good citizen and an honest
person to return the handphones to theirs rightful owners! God will Bless
you abundantly! Take care and all the best...happy myLotting!

Dear 308369666,
Welcome to myLot and I am glad to meet you here .
So sorry to hear that your girlfriend lost her money!
This syndicate / thiefs / pick-pockets, they are very
professional. I totally agreed with you that important
documents, credit cards should not be put inside wallet..
but where should we keep it then if we need to do shopping?
One of my friend, she only wear jeans when she go out, she
will put inside her jean's pocket!
My husband brand new handphone was stolen at the traffic light
when he stopped his car (traffic : red light). This guy just open
the passenger door and pretended that he knows my husband..with
his 'fake' name cards.. he is fast..he took the handphone and out
from the car when the light turned green again. When green light,
my husband drove off without noticed the hp been taken. This conman
are professional..perfect timing!
Therefore, we must locked our cars at all time.
Thanks for sharing and hope to hear you opinions on my previous topic :

I lost my handbag in a park, and my purse in a market, but when going back, and was able to get from adm. my belongings, except that the cash was gone. I was sad at first glance, but turned to be lighter, at least the cards, and keys were still there. Since then, I have got more cautious, esp. during travels. What if the ID were gone?

You are lucky . You found your whole bag! Really have to be careful next time. Last week I stopped at my maintanance office to pay for some bills. Then I took the lift and went back home. The minute I step on my house, my cell phone rang. The clerk from the office call me saying that I left a bank account book just now. I faster rushed down to the office to collect the pass book. This is my lost and found experience, the latest one. Haha, actually I lost many things before, just could not remember what I have found back.

Thanks for sharing your experience here. Appreciate it
very much! You are lucky...you got back your bank account
book! It is a "wake up" call for us, to be extra careful and
alert at all times. Please check our things before we leave
the place!
Since young my son created a 'jingle'...due to his absent minded
parents who always left things...
It has a catchy tunes too! The lyrics is :
Nothing left behind right?
Nothing left behind right?...upon listening to this jingle..
we will turn our head to check on the seats, table and the
floor if anything was left behind! If we did not check due
to preoccupied with conversations..he will pull my skirt and
sing the 'jingle' again! I love his idea..he still doing it
till today!

I haven't really lost many things throughout my life. In high school I lost a few jackets, but nothing special. I have never lost anything like my wallet or my phone - I always check my pockets anywhere I go, so I am vigilant about that. Although that doesn't mean it will never happen, I just like to be cautious with things like my wallet with my cards and money in it, as well as my phone with personal contact information.

Yeah i have. Or I don't know do I have really, but here it goes:
Ok, i was snowboarding at ruka, and came down the hill. Down at the hill i tried to find my phone from pocket, and it wasn't there. I felt really bad about losing it and if I couldn't find it from so big place as Ruka was. Well, then after searching, i hitted my arm to something hard.. Then I realized that there was a hole in my pocket and the phone has went straight through that hole in there. It was hard to get that phone out of there, inside the jacket..
Many times i have lost phone at smaller ski resorts, but have found it. Or then staff in there just announced about found phone.

Dear meapas,
Totally agree with you. We must take extra precaution to
avoid unnecessary troubles. We must also beware and alert
at all times especially at crowded areas.
There is once incident during Moon Cake Festival organised
by a popular supermarket here in Klang Valley. It atttracted
hundreds of participants and visitors. After the lantern parades,
we were treated to some wonderful buffet style refreshments. My
husband went & take some food and left the bag with camera in it.
My son and me was sitting on a bench and enjoyed our food, the bag
is just beside us on the bench too! But the bag was not zipped.
So when my husband came, I try to move the bag so that he got a place
to sit, then I realised the camera was no longer there. It was stolen!
We reported about it but to no avail. I suspected who took it, but we
got no prove...we were quite sad because inside the camera there was
still 3/4 photos undeveloped, it consists of wonderful & memorable
moments of holidays with my mum and family at Bukit Tinggi holiday. My
mum is old, she hardly go holiday...so the moments together is very
precious to her and all of us! They not only stolen the camera from us
but our wonderful memory too! So BEcareful & BEware!
All the best and thanks for sharing. Do keep in touch!
