Thats how Im feeling right now. I live with my parents, and they are the type of people that dont throw stuff out right away, or dont have much time so they just pick up and leave before putting their stuff away. I dont have people over for that reason. Its never completely clutter free, and cause my house is open concept so theres not much privacy. Im not gonna lie I contribute to the mess, but Im not home often, so i dont even know where to start. I realized this whenever my parents were gone for the weekend and no matter what I did i couldnt completely get a handle on the house. Makes me realize that I would be so good at keeping my own house clean as long as I was just responsible for my things.
Do you ever just get too overwhelmed to the point you just sit back down and wait for later?

I live by myself and so most of the house is clean most of the time..my craft room is another thing....especially after my four year old granddaughter comes over...it looks like it blew up. This morning however I finally got in there and got it cleaned up!!! It looks so very nice it was well worth all the time I spent cleaning and scrubbing! It is overwhelming sometimes so I just close the door! LOL

Lol we have a spare bedroom, so when my parents are gone and people ome over, i just throw their mess in there and let them sort it out. May seem kinda rude, but when they clean and my stuff is around they put it on my bed, its payback. My dad gets like, every newspaper possible printed around here, I just put it all in a pile n let him deal with it. When you live on your own and its messy, atleast you know its your own fault lol and your own mess. When you live with others you dont wanna have to clean up their mess as well.

Yeah sometimes I just get this urge to clean up my room and make it sparkly clean and orderly once more! But theres alll these things. And I'll clean up something, but sometimes I'll have something that I don't know what to do with and it ends up STILL sitting there and i feel like there's too much to get it clean even tho i want it clean! It's so tiring too i just get so exhausted and stressed sometimes if the mess is too big.

Well, I am a master at procrastination…overwhelmed or not LOL and my house is always cluttered no matter what I do, so I have stopped doing anything at all. Every weekend I am determined to clear up the mess and then either I feel lazy or overwhelmed or whatever or something else come up and then its again shelved for next week. At least you stay with you parents but I have no excuse whatsoever…only thing I can say to myself is that my hubby and son contribute more to the mess than me while taking no initiative to clean up or organize…it’s a big showdown often and most of the times I just let go.

I live with roommates and i go through this same problem. I clean and clean and clean while they sit on thier computers. the apartment im in is cluttered 60% of the time and filthy the other 50% no matter how much i clean. and i get frustrated because when i do clean they have the nerve to complain about how i clean. I even get excuses as to why they dont clean....oh ive been working all day so im too tired, or if its a day off its "i worked all week and dont feel like doing anymore" so i do it cause no one else will.

Always. always tell myself that I need to clean, and am always putting it off till it sometimes is too much lol. having two boys makes it even worse. Once something is clean i can walk to the bathroom, go, and when i come back the house is trashed. happens everytime. So usually start cleaning something and then sit down and end up relaxing for maybe a few min possibly a few hours and then get up and do it all over again lol. most days i'll make one night a full night just to clean everything all over again lol. such is life with kids.

This happens to me all the time! We run a business out of our home which just makes it worse!! I think that my biggest problem is the fact that I don't "leave" to go to work. I am pretty much always home. There's nothing to break my day up.

My boyfriend definitely feels that way about how I keep everything. I do keep clutter but I do clean. Our problem is that we don't have much storage space and I have so many books. Things will be so much cleaner when I get another bookcase because things will be a little more less cluttered because things will be neater.

I'm a stay at home dad so I'm always making sure the place we are in is clean and clutter free. I hope you don't let them take advantage of you, I can't live in messiness but I won't pick up for people who just make the mess, there is a line. Right now we have a housekeeper and its really nice to have somebody else take care of that stuff.

I get that way at times. Especially when I try hard to make things look nice and it feels like a constant battle to keep them that way. I live in a house with my husband and our kids. I clean houses every day, sometimes two or three houses in a day. When I come home after cleaning all day long, and I see that my family has left their stuff everywhere or created messes and left them, it gets a bit overwhelming for me. It almost feels like they simply do not care that I spent not only all day cleaning houses, but all weekend cleaning ours. My kids all have their specified chores to do each day, but it is a battle to get them to actually do their chores most days, and they never do them completely. I contribute to messiness in two areas of my house, my bedroom and the front porch. I have a small bedroom, so no matter what I do to keep it clean, it never really looks clean, my front porch is where we keep our shoes and where I sit to get away for a few minutes. It tends to get cluttered at times and because of all of our shoes, the floor always feels dirty. Those areas are not my top priority because they are not the areas where we are the majority of the time. When I feel overwhelmed, I will sit at my computer, or on the couch to read a book. Then, when I am a bit more relaxed, I get up and try again.

I get overwhelmed very easy and if the mess is just out of hand I may have to sit back down.

I have six children and a husband and it seems that none of them know where the bin is situated let alone how to put things away that they get out.I am getting to the stage where i am filling a black bag every day from at least one room the rubbish like sweet wrappers and crisp bags that they throw on the floor instead of a litter bin that sit right next to them for instance,i am fed up of it but if i do not do it then it will not get done.I did catch up with all the house work until i went out side to tidy the garden up that took me two whole days to do and all my friends bins.Doing the outside did mean that i could not keep up with the inside of the house.I also try to earn money that i need on the pc as well as make greetings cards just to make ends meet.I have told them all i am not a robot i am a human being and now it is getting me down as it is impossible to keep up with them all.I now tend to set myself a goal and that is three black bags a sweep up and the washing as well as all the animals every day and then earn money.I know how you feel.
