Stress is making me sick

The stress in my life is pushing me over the edge. I am very jittery lately and my heart is always raising. I am stuck with this awful stress headache and the only time I am calm is at night in the bed. The rest of the day I feel like pulling all my hairs out and screaming. Have you ever been under complete pressure and massive stress and how did you deal with it?

I am under stress quite often too with the heavy work loads at my work place, having to work many many hours a day. By the time I get back home, pretty late in the evening often, I am totally exhausted and stressed. My two favorite ways of relaxing and getting rid of the stresses are listening to classical music and practising "Yoga" meditation. Very very helpful. Have you tried "Yoga" meditation ? That si very good for mental and physical relaxtion and health. I feel much relaxed and free of stress after about an hour of meditation. You might want to try that.

I have tried some meditation but seems to only work for a short period of time. Yoga I would have to learn all the moves so I havent tried that yet.

Sometimes I used to. I don't any more and I don't know why. But when I was I made sure I got plenty of sleep....for me when I felt upset or nervous many times I just needed to get a good rest so that I could cope with it...hope you get by this. I know what stress can do! Make sure you stay off or use very little caffeine too....that will add to the jitters.

I get plenty of sleep so thats good but when I am up I am strung out all day. I cut back on caffeine to see if that would help but no luck.

I have. Sometimes stress makes me throwup. It's horrible. Sometimes I get panic attacks too. A good method to deal and calm yourself down is yoga and meditation. Another thing I like to do is go for walks. It helps clear my head. I like to walk to the park at night sometimes and swing. It takes your mind off things and it's fun.

Hi moneymommy, I do know and understand how you feel. I do get stressed everytime i have work loads and another job assignment at office. I dont know where to start, like i dont know if im going to finish this and that. I also get stress headache, but lately i found myself that i am doing well in stress management. I started doing aerobic exercises every day for 30 minutes before i go to work. The exercise really helps me a lot. And also dont forget to treat yourself every week, have a foot spa, massage and just treat yourself with the foods you like once a week. it doesnt cost that much when its just once a week right? Happy mylotting and smile always!

Yes I have, I get stressed easily if school work or work overwhelms me. If I don't get enough rest to relax, then I get really stressed out in situations. Normally, the only times I get really stressed out and under pressure is during exam times. The lack of sleep and lack of normal routine really throws me off balance. I eat at odd times at night, I don't sleep till 3am or 4am in the morning, and I just look terrible. Usually during exam days, since I know that I don't work well under stress, I really try to pace myself according to how much I can handle per day. I try not to overwhelm myself with overworking, I would split up a certain amount of work per day and that would really help me keep in control while still getting enough sleep. I hope you feel better!

Yes that would stress me out as well. I have such a low tolerance for stress it seems.

Yes, it almost, literally, killed me. It was 10 years ago, an unbearable life situation (divorce, loss of business, I didn´t even have a place to live!) and my body reacted. Somehow my intestines rupured (stress always gets to my stomache), and I needed two mayor surgeries. I live in Mexico, and here 8 out of 10 people with peritonietis die, it´s as simple as that. So I'm constatntly aware of the stress factors in my life, and I try to keep it down. Please be careful, because stress might make you ill, but dying would make you really mad, wouldn´t it?

I exercise. I find that a good hard workout, revitalizes me and gives me renewed energy. It also puts me in a better mood and I feel in control again. If it gets too overwhelming, you should see your doctor. I needed it as I was starting to get panic attacks from the stress. I was only on medication for three months and now I am able to deal with stress much better. Good Luck!

I know exactly how you feel. I've experienced the sort of stress that you're experiencing many, many times. I'm not really good with stress. I don't think that I do very well under pressure or stress or anxiety or anything like that. I don't know why, but it's just the way that it is. I guess that's probably why I enjoy meditating or relaxation and breathing exercises.

I will by now if I don't have anything to do since this past few years. I kind a person who hardly laugh, and then I found something that make me laugh and happy. It kind weird, but i can show you if you want. Nothing extrordinary, except looking at the funny clip from the boy band that I like, and this boy band is not like other ohh,I cannot explain in here, and now it has become addiction. There must be something that can make you less stress, and wanted to go out from bed every morning. It just maybe you haven't found it yet.

Yes, I had a job that I worked at alot of years ago that was so stressful that I was constantly stressed even when I wasnt there... eventually I found a new job and my stress level dropped somewhat and I was with that company for almost 2 yrs before 9/11 hit and then I lost my job after that.... then I became pregnant so it was like I was working my way to become a full time mom...LOL I get stressed over bills now that I dont work, which is why I am now working online...granted I dont make much but it helps to know that when the money comes in I am helping even in that little bit. I am sorry that your life has been so stressful, I hope things turn around for you and that things get much better for you in the future.

Stress has been eating at me also. I resigned my job last year because I could not stomach the dishonesty & internal politics at work. Currently, I'm studying at home, but my family is driving me nuts. It's as if they always have to have a shouting contest instead of a normal discussion. My solution is to find a nice peaceful place & just sit there & do absolutely nothing. Jogging is also a nice stress reliever. Try doing something physical that you enjoy doing.

When I am stressed I usually read the bible or so some kind of activity. My dad told me to never stress. Be concerned but do not stress. Life is too short to spend worrying about something. This is truly wasting life. Everyone goes through ups and downs and u should always be sure that you are going to make it out okay. things will work out. trust n faith.

Moneymommy, please, take a time out, rest, eat right and then reflect! It is alright and very human to be overwhelmed! The last thing you want to do, however, is get on medications: Medications are simply going to render you worthless and unable to address the true problem you are facing. Your racing heart may very well imply nutritional deficiency. Have no shame! We are humans, and sometimes, unpleasant situations beyond our control can us all anxious and feeling helpless. Just do that which you can for each day and ask the good Lord Almighty to see to the rest.

I fully understand stress making you sick. When I get really stressed out I get headaches and I get horrible stomach aches.
