"According to the commentary, everything about the hospital exploding was improvised by Ledger. The exploding building was a condemned building redressed to look like a hospital. When the Joker hits the remote, that was supposed to match with the building's demolition... but only a few explosives went off. Ledger managed to stay in character, improvised his fiddling with the remote afterward, and is genuinely running for it when the explosion proper happened. More proof that Heath Ledger as the Joker was Ledger's Crowning Moment Of Awesome"
that was actually completely surprising to me. that was certainly great improvisation skills that made that scene flow so well. it seemed completely flawless

I agree he was amazing in the movie the perfect joker. He could not have put out a better performance. It is real shame he didn't get to enjoy all of the prise he got for that role. May he rest in peace.

Yes,Heath Ledger was an amazing actor what happened to him was truly a sad loss. To be so young and so talented and to lose your life at such a young age, it is truly a shame and such a waste of a young life. The entertainment world has lost a lot of good and talented people in the last few months as well. Such a shame.

The expression he gave when the explosion stopped and began suddenly again was awesome. And now after reading this I can not simply believe how great a actor he was.To remain calm and improvise like that is awesome. I have always loved him as an actor. It is such a pity I would not be able to see him in amymore.

Makes me even sadder to realize one of the greatest actor we found in the decade. I think the hospital scene was genious! It just so creepy watching him running from the exploding hospital while laughing insanely watching it happened. I think the interrogation scene with Christian Bale and Gary Oldman was also the best scene in the movie. I'll still remember how he spoke "you complete me" forever.
