Ok for once and for all please can people get it straight. Michael Jackson did not change the color of his skin. He had the disease called Vitiligo. Which is a lightening of the skin pigmentation. He had no control over this. He did not want to be a white man. He had more white spots on his skin and between him and his doctor decided it was easier to cover up the darker spots then the white spots because there were more white spots. He was not against his race he was for all races and he was a great entertainer. All he wanted was to sing songs, dance and make people happy and to make this a better world for all people. Period Amen. For thoses who don't believe google vitiligo you will see the pictures they are not a pretty sight.

From day one I always knew he had a skin disorder because he admitted himself. Some people choose to think he wanted to be white but like you said he had no control over it. He still was the best entertainer in the world no matter his skin color. May he rest in peace.

I agree with you. It seems that people just want to believe what they want to believe no matter what the truth is. Thank you for your response.

Did he really have lupus? Oh God, my sister has lupus, too. An aunt and 3 uncles of mine have vitiligo. Does that mean I could get vitiligo too?

He did have the disease, and people do stare at people with Vitiligo. I have seen people with the disease, and I understand why someone would even there skin out. I understand the skin portion, and that's what you are addressing. The race thing I think MJ had some racial complex, but your topic is on the skin discoloration so I will leave it as that.

Hi, lelin1123. Thanks for setting the record straight. Micheal had to have a skin disease. People have so much to say about how he purposely bleached his skin. But he did not. He had a skin disease. I just did not know the name if it. I wonder what caused him to have this skin disease? He did not care about the color of his skin, that is why he loved everyone from every color. He was a very sweet and caring person. He had such a calm attitude that was very respectable. I love Micheal regardless of his past. I will always see him as The King Of Pop.

That has nothing to do with the skin disease. That has more to do with the abuse his father gave him as a child calling him ugly and saying what a wide nose you have. You must have gotten that from Kate. Negative comments like that spoken to a young child will stay with you a lifetime.

Many people are bleaching their skin white now. Dermatology and cosmetic surgery had become big businesses. The medical and surgical fields could probably attribute the transformation that so many people wanted to Michael Jackson. He showed the world that it can be done. It must have started with his vitiligo condition but it has a whole new meaning now. People can prettify themselves according to how they want to look like. Many Caucasians have tanned themselves as early as the 60's, I think. They want to look darker. If Michael Jackson wanted to look lighter, that was his prerogative. Michael Jackson remains to be the greatest entertainer of all time. His private choices and options though were totally his own. Skin pigmentation or not, who are we to judge?

This is true who are we to judge but I heard his doctor explain the skin disease. So it wasn't that he wanted to be white. I felt I needed to clarify the situation because people like to continue writing the wrong facts which was bothering me. Thank you so much for responding.
