Does the end of human life on this planet mean the end of the World?

Let me start by saying that I have great faith in the generation growing up today and in their ability to solve the ever growing mountain of problems facing the world. It is possible however, that it may be too much for even the greatest minds and mankind may go the way of the dinosaur. My question to you is this, will this also mean the end of the planet? It is my belief that the earth will continue and eventually recover from the damage that we as a species have done to it. Time will have no meaning, it has all the time in the world. We know that dinosaurs and other life forms lived here for millions of years before man came on the scene so it's possible that other life forms will someday call this planet home. Do you think so?

the end of human life does not depend on the end of the world but the end of the world depends on the human life because we are destroying the earth and the end of the world would have as consequence the end of human life, maybe not, because we could have dicovered another planet with the same characterisitcs of the eartf and most of humans could be living there and the earth can be left by humans and there wouldnt an end for human life

Yes the next generation is very smart, but perhaps to much so. Our planet is being destroyed by increasing "technology". Like others have said, the planet may continue to go on while the human population my expire like the dinosuars did.

Hi susanmly, Thank you for your comment. I am hoping that the next generation will be smart enough to see what we have to do. As far as technology in concerned, we are moving too fast. What we need now are leaders that can show us how to live. However it comes about, all peoples of the world have to learn to live together, not just in peace but as friends. We have to pool our resources into projects that will save the planet or more correctly, manage it so that we can continue to live here. Blessings.

Absolutely not! The end of the human species would even do good to Earth, seeing as humans have been destroying it in the short span of time (for Earth) that they have been here. If the humans leave the Earth alone then the Earth would finally have time to heal itself.

Mankind is generally a selfish species. We are on a very tiny planet orbiting an unremarkable star in an ocean of galaxies. Yet we think we are the greatest things in the universe, even though our knowledge of this universe is very little.
On this planet we take the lives of other creatures for fun & greed. In my opinion this world will flourish without the burden of mankind.

Hi Flikker, My thoughts exactly, we can do our worse but the planet will eventually heal itself. The earth was here long before us and has served us well. Our technology has brought us to the edge extinction, now we need to play catch up in other ways, like forgetting our differences and working together so that the planet will remain inhabitable. Blessings.

Yes, even other life forms will call this plannet a home. Bcoz of its natural resources that even it was damage my man it has natural way of healing. Each species on this plannet has its own task. From the way of living, damaging and restoration. But mankind is the big factor in damaging the earth natural resources. And mankind is very affected everytime theres a typhoon, earthquake, or any force major of our mother earth.

I don't necessary believe that if human life ended on Earth, then the entire world disappears. If it means the entire human race, than yes, but if it means the Planet, than no. Like the dinosaurs, after its extinction million years ago, human life have taken over. I believe that as the actual planet itself is still in existence, the life-form that dwells on it will continue to grow.

Hi travelingtheworld, Thank you for your response and I agree. We are in the habit of thinking that we are in charge and if we don't exist than nothing does. As you say the dinosaurs were here here long before we came on the scene and we may have been here fifty million or more years ago. I guess we forget that time is man made and has no meaning outside of the way we think. I don't believe we can destroy the planet but we are probably capable of destroying all life, at least for the moment. The earth as a living breathing organism, will recover and new life will no doubt reappear. Blessings.

I guess it depends on how it ends, if it is just the end of the human race because of the resourses we no longer have and need or whether it will because of a big bang in some way...but I guess no matter which way there would be somethings that I believe will survive anything, things like ants and rats..they will end up inheriting the earth I think...

Well I believe that if there is no human life on this planet there would still be a world for a little while with all the animals on it but after awhile some of the animals will die off because of no food and then the food chain will start to diminish. I hope of course this will happen someday when the lord comes and takes us all home to live with him.

Hi marriedman, Thank you for expressing your thoughts here. Have you thought about the fact that the earth itself is a living ,breathing organism? It will live on even if we destroy ourselves and all animal life. I agree that we are spiritual beings and it is only the physical that we can destroy. Blessings.

It depends on who causes the end of human life. If you read the Bible, Christ will return in clouds of glory, all life on earth as you know it will disappear, and the elect will be caught up to heaven and those still on earth will be transformed into immortality. So that human life will become immortal. Now that is what we are waiting for.
However, I doubt that God will allow man to exterminate himself. After all, HE is in charge not man and people have lived in horrific conditions. I also do not believe the earth is millions of years old and that animals and plants existed million of years before man came on the scene. But earth does have the appearance of age. And if man was around for 10,000 or more years, then we would have been settling the other planets by now.

If human life were to disappear from this planet then the other forms of live living here will flourish. Man is very destructive and likes very much to annihilate other people.

Hello Pose123 this is checkmail and your said end of the Human being won't ever come but then also in imagination it won't be the end of the world. As you know there are also other planets in the universe, where still we are suspecting life orm on that planets. So normally you can imagine that the life forms also can't be completely erased. The end of the Human being is called as the doom day of the earth.

I absolutely think that this planet will continue to exist whether we inhabit it or not. It will be here until the sun explodes.... hope I'm not around for that one. Even with the 2012 talk that has been circulating lately, it may be the end of humanity, but definetely not the planet.
