Would you travel alone?

I was by my lonesome self last Monday. Had to fulfill an errand commanded by my mommy. My daughters had loads of academic requirements to attend to. Nobody could accompany me in my trip to the province. So I left at dawn break and cruised my way through the metropolis. The city lights were just beginning to dim and the heavens were showing a play by play of crimson streaks against the sapphire sky. I breathed a sign of relief for a fine day to travel alone. On hindsight, however, I don't think I was truly alone.

I love to travel alone. That is my escape, my "me" time. I am often alone, but I am never lonely. Generally when I am traveling to other states by myself, it is to events where I will meet up with a bunch of my business associates and friends. And then on the way home, I can relax again and reflect on what I have learned and done while away. Also when I travel alone, I don't have to wait for others, I can move about at my own pace and see what I want to see. I love to sit on an airplane and just gaze out the window or read a good book. I don't need conversation to keep me occupied.

That is interesting - travel as an escape and travel as relaxation. I am glad you can travel alone all right.

I would actually love to travel alone just once. Stopping where I want to stop and seeing what I want to see and stopping to use the restroom when I want to, I think that would be fabulous. Last year a bunch of us ladies were going to spend the weekend in Las Vegas. We all had different flights out there though. Mine was the first to arrive so I had 3 hours in Las Vegas all to my self. I had a wonderful time, I walked around various hotels and took lots of pictures. It was wonderful.

I would travel by myself. I used to almost always travel on my own to different countries in my younger days. I now travel with my toddler son and we will now be able to take my baby daughter with us as well. I have taken my toddler son to five different countries. When I was pregnant I took him to South Africa. When I did travel alone in the past I liked to get to my accommodation before dark if possible. If not I stayed at the airport until morning or got a taxi. I am glad that you had an enjoyable journey to the province you were going to.

Great! I am happy to know that motherhood had not impeded you from the wanderlust. Traveling is a good way of showing the kids there's a big world out there.

I dont see anything wrong with traveling alone. It is more fun when you have company but sometimes you just have to travel alone.

Yeah, company seems to make the trip lighter and happier. I don't have to fish for the toll fee myself.
