Are you a phone person or an online person?

I've never been a 'phone person'. I don't like talking long hours on the phone since I'm not comfortable of using the ear-piece. But I could say I'm more of an 'online person'. I could talk all day online. Why? because I could do multitasking. I could open several programs at once while not missing an information of what is talked about. Of course, this needs a powerful machine to do so, but it's a great feeling of being super busy and being able to do so many things at one time. I like the challenge.
How about you?
But oh yeah, it's better indeed to be a face-to-face person. I do that about several times a week. I'd go visiting my friends for lunch or for a break (since we don't really live in far away cities). We could just chitchat. Otherwise, we talk online.

I am an online person.. My husband talks on the phone like a teenager girl with a huge crush and has to tell everyone about it. If i wanted to talk on the phone I would be sitting around and waiting for hours.. So I am an onliner and texter. makes things easier. Wonder how many phone lines we will need when our 2 daughter which are 18 months apart get to be teenager. Maybe my husband will grow out of the phone thing by then.

Hmmm.. It struck me as weird that your hubby is the one who's burning the phone lines. I've always thought that chitchatting on the phone was a girl thing. Who does he talk to? Isn't it weird for you since men don't really like talking to each other over long periods of time on the phone? Yes, they do it when they're in a group, but at home on the phone??

I think that is one thing that made me fall in love with him.. He didnt wait that week to call me. He called me right away and not that annoying gosh stop calling you know. He talks to whom ever he can most of the time he is on the phone with his family in NC and we are in Indiana. but his grandma calls about 10xs a day so her as well and she just lives a mile away.. He likes to keep himself occupied. And the phone keeps him that way.

I am definitely a phone person. In 100%! I can do multitasking but very often it can be just mirage. I think that I can do everything - and everything starts to slip through my hands.
And I LOVE talking to people. That's why I work as a coach. I LOVE talking and listening.

I'm with you, laydee!
I find the phone to be a major pain unless there's something really important to be accomplished by a call. On line, we can choose our own time and our own ways, and nobody is going to intrude on that by ringing the phone. I carry my cell phone for emergencies, but I seldom even turn it on.

Someone recently pointed that out, so I keep it on now. I often transfer calls from my home phone to the cell now, too. I wonder why I hadn't thought of it that way....

Hi there, same with you i dont like talking long hours on the phone. I feel that i am tired holding the phone for a long time Id rather go online. Now, my hubby was working abroad and our first way to communicate was in chat we dont use phone much often because its expensive unlike chatting, face to face is really a good way to communicate ofcourse.

I am also not a phone person. I seriously hate being on the phone. I love being online. So I guess I'm an online type of person. The phone is just not my thing I think I get that from my father. He is the same way about the phone.

I'm more of an online person for the most part. My Mom loves to call and we talk for hours and hours...I don't mind. I also have a friend that lives in another state and she calls and talks and talks...I kind of don't mind but mostly she talks about her kids or her latest pregnancy, neither of which are really interesting to me.

It really depends on the person that I'm talking to...quite a few of my friends who I don't see that often I talk to online but a couple of my girlfriends I love talking to on the phone.

If I don't know the address and the contact number of the company that I'm supposed to call, I research the details online, and when I have the contact number, that's the time that I'll be using the telephone to contact them.

Probably an online person. If I am going to talk to someone, I might as well wait and talk to them face to face in perosn. I also agree about multitasking while online, it is easier to do because you don't feel as obligated to concentrate online as you do while there is someone on the other end of the phone.

I'm also more an online person than a phone person. I found that I don't really like to talk on the phone if I have a choice. Occasionally I'll talk on the phone if the mood strikes but other than that, I prefer to talk online or in person. Online really gives you a sense of freedom. You have time to do other things, so mutitasking while you talk online and you definitely don't have the hassle of having to walk around with a phone. I hate it when the person I talk to talks so long that I get a neck crank from holding the phone. Another thing is that I always like to write, I rather write than speak if I can. I find that I'm more eloquent when I talk online and I have time to delete my mistakes and fix my wording if I need to. The one thing I truly hate with talking on the phone are those awkward phone silences where neither person knows really what to talk about anymore but didn't want to offend the other one by hanging up.
