It is very hard to make a real friend

I've recently realised how hard it is to make real friends instead of being used by people that don't really care about you. I've finally got those people out of my life for good, and it feels great to be free. But now it's a bit lonely. They chased away my old friends and have knocked my confidence so I find it hard to make new friends. Hopefully in time I'll be able to find the confidence to make to new friends, and be better at seeing them for what they're really like.

I also feel the same way. it's hard to meet real friends. Some of my friends come and go. They're with me in the good times and leave during the bad times. I am choosy when it comes to friends. I choose the best people. But maybe it's just my fate to meet people like those who would just use me and leave me alone after they got what they want. Sad but true. That's why today, I don't care if I only have a few friends. As long as they're there through ups and downs. Because that's the real essence of friendship. They may be few, but at least they are true.

yes, you are very correct. Most people I meet nowadays are very artificial…they always have a smile pasted on their face and look like they are very concerned about you, which they are not of course. Its been a long long time since I have stopped making friends at all…most are just acquaintances and colleagues at office. I think my family is the best friend I have.

Hi there! You're right. It's really hard to find true friends and most of the time people befriend you when they can benefit from the friendship but I am not losing hope. I know that somehow, there are still people who are looking for a real friendship. I guess we'll just have to live by the saying, to find good friends, be one.

It is easier for me to make friends online than it is in real life. I have family that cares for me and just a few friends in real life that I know really care, I think everyone is too busy these days and want to do other things (like we are doing right now) and we don't socialize as much as we used to.

i don't have a lot of friends and i choose my friends wisely so i am confident that each of them cares about me as much as i care about them. i have no room or time in my life for fake friends that are just trying to get something from me.
