Today's realities are war, crime, hunger, sickness, aging to mention just a few. Yet there is reason for hope. The Bible fortells that God will create a "new heaven and a new earth" and that "the former things will not be called to mind, neither will they come up into the heart"- Isaiah 65:17.
These "new heavens" and "new earth", according to the Scriptures, are not a new material heaven or new literal earth. The physical earth and heaven were made perfect, and the Scriptures show they will remain forever. The "new earth" will be a righteous society of people living on earth, and the "new heavens" will be a perfect heavenly kingdom, or government, that will rule over this earthly society of people. But is it realistic to believe that "a new earth", or glorious new world, is possible?
Well, consider the fact that such ideal conditions were part of God's original purpose for this earth. He placed the first human couple in the earthy Paradise of Eaden and gave them a marvelous assignment:"Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it." (Genesis 1:28). Yes, God's purpose was for them to have children and eventually to spread their Paradice over all the earth. Although they later choose to disobey God, thus proving to be unfit to live forever, God's original purpose did not change. And it must be fulfilled in a new world!
In fact, it is the Messiah, promissed in the Scriptures, who will serve as a divinely appointed king and rule over this new world. The Messiah will rid the earth of all wickedness, and then the psalm will be fulfilled:"The righteos themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it."- Psalm 37:29.

These are the last days which we are living in. We are beleiving and we must beleive about the new heavens and the earth. And this new earth as you said will be ruled by the perfect heavely kingdom. Surely we are going to see a peaceful earth. For everything there is an end and surely there will be beginning of a new thing after each end. We are beleving as Jesus came into our hearts making us a new creation putting a fullstop to the old one.
Lets hope and see the new eternal peace on earth very soon. Happy Mylotting. God bless you.

Yes we are living in the last days where this wicked system of things will soon be brought to an end. Many persons think that this is the time to really free up oneself and enjoy all the sinfull pleasures this world have to offer. But really this is the time to keep awake, stand firm and grow mighty in our faith.
happy Mylotting to you also!!

Yes, I believe the earth really will come to be peaceful. I believe this because as God works with me and puts His peace within me, I know he can do it for anyone who desires a relationship with Him and His peace. I guess you might say that I am learning this by experience. I also believe what the Bible says concerning all of this. It is hard to see past what the earth is today, but I think it is like looking at a pregnant woman and trying to understand the adult her child will become some day.

I like your illustration of a pregnant woman. We via the bible can see the future. The bible states that soon there will be peace on earth but we do not know the time or the hour that will happen. We just have to wait patiently and see the outcome like you said. And in the mean time we must keep out faith and not let the evil in this world lead us away from our path.

Well, you see what it means is that heaven and hell are all the time present in our lives. It is only how we take our lives that we make them heaven or hell. As you quoted that the righteous people will possess the earth and they will reside, it is very much possible to have such a place where there are only good people and righteousness is a way of life. Now for example, if we consider two families. In one family the parents and the children are living peacefully and are happy with their life. The parents teach their children the morals and values of life and follow those principles themselves. Now another family which is in turmoil. There is a constant state of anger, resentment, fear etc. Now if we consider both these families are they not symbol of heaven and hell. Now for the bigger picture. Is is not possible to inculcate good thoughts and actions in every household so that a society is made good on a large scale. If this is achieved the nation becomes good. Once one nation does it the other nations will follow and thereby the whole world will be a better place to stay. This is what we call the heaven.

Yes, the bible says so and it is the hope and yearning not only of Christians but also all of God's creations. It's a comforting promise of God to us, believers, about the new heaven and the new earth where God will reign forever and ever. But before this comes to pass, the bible says that Jesus will reign for a period of one thousand years on earth after having defeated the Antichrist, the False prophet and their allies, and you can find it in Revelations chapters 19 and 20. The New Heaven and New Earth comes in Revelations 21 after the final defeat of Satan.
